Audiovox 8900 is Tri-mode, so you can pick up analog, which is good if you travel to BFE on a regular basis. Neither. The samsung is a VERY old design now, much larger, heavier than the competing hardware coming out. Oh, and no external caller ID, you will have to leave it twisted all the time exposing the screen to scratches and then twist and flip the phone every time you want to answer the phone if you want to know who is calling you. There are supposedly a bunch of new phones coming out for all providers early summer and the only reason I can see for buying one of these is to save money when they are put on sale. The newer phones will be smaller, have beter screens, have megapixel cameras (some with video) and most importantly have more memory. I would say neither also. The camera on the LG VX-6000 is crisp and clear (as long as its in the day) and the reception is great. If you have a few weeks to wait I'm sure that something will be coming out that may interest you if not the vx-6000.

Without hesitation I'd say get the a610...I've never met an Audiovox that could stand up to a Samsung.
