I work for vzw and I get so angry when you find out a potential customer was lied to about vzw and your potential customer signs up based on that. I had a customer interested in new lines and educated him on all this good stuff about the networks (something I pride myself on studdying) and different ins and outs of the industry. Him and his boss go to an authorized agent for tmobile and get the phones. I have NO problem accepting that. But in talking to him I find out that the stupid moron selling him the phone said that our ENTIRE network was analog and that gsm was so much better and new than cdma it would be a huge mistake to go with vzw. He also told the customer that tmobile has the largest coverage out of all the carriers second to cin...

Blame the customer's for being easily manipulated... I have come to accept that ultimately the customer is responsible for their decisions and wether or not they choose to inform themselves.
But on the flip side... It's not like lies don't float around the industry to get the sale. So no carrier is above taking advantage of the consumers ignorance.

I have the same problem with Mobile Solutions in my mall in N.E Ohio. They do lie and hawk down customers with pressure sales they suck... 🤭

i work for cingular and we have a hugh problem with them also in buff,ny. they will say anything they can to get a sale. they harrass people walking by and then they screw up their billing. then i have to fix it. just tell the cust to take it back to them and deamd a return and then sign them up.
...
Im going to go shop them. 😁 It wont be a problem striking up a conversation with them. Just like you guys have said they harrass the crap out of every person walking by so I am sure they will ask me then I will play dumb to see what they say. Should be pretty fun. I was talking to one of their managers who came into I guess shop us or something and he said I should come work for them. I told him I wouldnt fit in and when he asked why I told him its cause I tend to tell the truth and like keeping my dignety in tact. (truely verbatim. He tried to defend against what I said but you could tell even he was guilty of lying to customers)

A young Marine graduates boot camp and goes into his hometown mall Celluphone shop and signs with VZW. He gets stationed in the interior of Camp (f***ing)Pendleton where there is no service. VZW lets him canc svc beyond the 15 day trial period. We tell him return the equipment, and we'll waive the etf. Two months go by and he is still getting statements showing he owes the etf. I get the call. I try contacting the VZW store he told hi g/f to return equipment to, but the return is not on in thier system. On a hunch, I get call records from the day before svc canc through that days date. sure enough, on the very day he was told the phone had been returned, the esn starts transmitting with a new mtn. I look up the mtn and see that Celluphone ...

It's funny you mention about them harassing customers as they walk by. Cingular does the same thing at my local mall. I think it's hilarious that the guys will holla at girls to come over and mack to them while trying to sell a phone. The female employees do the same thing. They did it to me.

ATTWS/Cingular used to use Mobile Solutions....FIANLLY got rid of them...SOOOOOO many problems with them, then us CC reps had to deal with ALOT of angry customers being lied to at "those little cubes in the mall"

Yep,
That business has some of the worst sharks in the business. In my area the company seems to be managed by pure sleazebags.
Most of the reps there seem friendly enough, but it seems most companies indirect liasons, do not spend the proper time training & coaching like Verizon does in most cases.
This was the case, when I sold sprint as well, 2 out of 3 reps knew next to nothing. But the one guy was really on his game, kinda got me thinking why he seemed to be on the sinking ship known as sprint.
But I don't mean to bash carriers, everyone has things I don't like about them. Some more others.
Have some fun with the guy, get a family member to secret shop them, and then call them on it.
Then ask to speak to their boss!...

We just hired an employee for our stores (Authorized VZW Agent) and he used to work at Mobile Solutions. It is true, they lie their asses off. He says he really didn't, and I beleive him looking at him sell, he is very honest. As a matter of fact, that's one reason he left Mob Sol. I have heard a lot of BS form customers who have gone there as well. MobSol is a place where snotty kids try to break into the biz, and unfortunately for them, they are being taught to deceive and lie to customers because they need a way to sell T-Mobile. By the way, aa little birdie told me that MobSol may go T-Mobile exclusive, dumping Nextel and Cingular. Anyone else hear of this?

I would LOVE that. I hope they do then I could tear them apart. Even though I work for vzw cingular is a good competitor and I don't have any really good points about why customers shouldnt go with them. Now tmobile on the other hand.. 🤣

want to know why mob sol is so aggressive? $55 for every new t-mo act. i worked at a cingular agency before getting hired at mob sol. have hated it ever since, and ive only been here a month. cing direct here i come

Wow. I don't whether to cry or laugh. I work for T-Mobile Corporate and can tell you no one hates Mobile Solution more than us. My manager has had two of their kiosks moved and got one shut down.
I had a customer call me on the phone, come into my mall to see me (I am upper level, MobSol is lower), ended up at their kiosk and asked for me. The rep told my customer I went home early!!!
He came up stairs to do some shopping, walked by my store and came in. When I found out I walked him down there, made them call in the no-install and reactivated him myself.
Point? I didn't whine about them being a-holes. I did something about it. They work for my company and I will be damned if I will let them sully our name.
It makes me sad to kno...

I dont feel that it is my place to go confront another location about their selling tactics. That is where working for a corporation weighs heavily on actions. Mob solutions doesnt sell vzw anymore so it would be a very distant he said-she said game and I would rather spend my time driving new acts and making outbound calls than getting into a pissing match with some moron who thinks he know what he is talking about cause he heard it from a friend from a friend from a friend from a friend.
I kind of feel that because of mob sol it will only help vzws reputation cause if a customer gets burned by them its a HUGE burn and more often than not leads to a deact. I hate their selling tactics and the fact that they have ZERo dignety but hey th...

Don't worry. I've read many articles from analysts that believe that T-Mobile can not survive much longer on their own. Most believe they will be swallowed up by one of the other carriers within the next two years at the most.
...
Well, ya gotta figure, pretty soon it's gonna be Cingular, VZW, and Sprint Nextel, all with 40+ million subscribers, and t-mobile bringing up the rear with about 18 million. The only company who could really get them though would be cingular (well, the only company without running into some major network integration problems) And that would give cingular WAY to much of an edge over all the other carriers.
...
Vzw should by them just for the sole use of a prepaid system or credit challenged customers 🤣
