I was wondering if there have been any OS upgrades for the Storm 2. The reason I ask is because regardless of what is coming down the pipeline I still like the Storm 2 and am considering getting it as my upgrade which I am elegible for as of 3/15

Thanks

From VZW, doubt it. There pretty slow with BB updates.
Rumor is the Tour 2 for VZW will be updated for BB's new browser.
Then again RIM may wait to release it on their rumored slider BB. 😕
Hey, if you like the Storm 2 get the Storm 2.

i agree with andy; just get it. my wife and i did the bogo last year and got the S1. it hasn't been as bad as everyone who knocks it likes to say. we got lucky and got a couple of phones that didn't give us any problems, a little slow and laggy, ya, but otherwise a pretty enjoyable phone; besides, when your a vz customer you pretty much take what you can get and we didn't want to change carriers (she came from tmob actually, hated them). now she wants the S2 and i've played with it in the store and i gotta tell ya it seems to be much improved.

Then why does it matter? Software revisions don't get built unless there is a need for a software revision. If you like the way the device is working now, what relevance does the number showing after the 5.0.xxx have? There's plenty of data and reviews out there for the Storm 2. If you like it, go get one; if you don't, try something else or sit tight and wait for something else.

It seems like there's a new smartphone popping up somewhere about every week these days. Variety won't be a problem.

I agree with you somewhat. It does matter to me as even though the hardware is a little over a year or so old I think it should still have the latest greatest OS. Thats like saying we...

Thats like saying well here's a PC that is loaded to the gills with all the latest PC hardware but its okay cause its running Windows 98....Does that make sense?

No, BB Storm2 is already running the latest and greatest. No Blackberry on earth includes an O/S that has more capabilities.

It's more like going out to buy a new car and being forced to choose between a Sirius receiver and an XM radio system. The decision is a matter of taste, not a matter of quality.

The same difference exists between the Storm 2 and the Bold 9700. If you want a real keyboard get the Bold, if you want a touchscreen, get the Storm. They're technologically and statistically equivalent, so go with your personal preference.

Good point, I guess it all boils down to personal preference. I love the idea of the Google Android OS but there isnt a good enough for ...

And on that note....

A new O/S just launched for the Storm 2!

It's not VZW approved yet, but that matters very little as I'm sure you're aware
