POLL: Verizon's Phone Selection- Horrid or Not?
VERIZON'S PHONE LINE-UP, Horrid or Not?
Here's the poll choices:
A) Yes, their phones are horrid, period.
B) No, they're not bad at all, its just something other carriers like to say since they'd rather try to compete with VZW's phone lineup than VZW's network.
C) No, its only bad at the high-end (and the new 3G EVDO phones are changing that).
D) No, its just something Nokia fanboys like to say because VZW doesn't carry a lot of Nokias.
E) No, but it'd sure help if Motorla would pull its head out of its *bleep* and make some better CDMA phones.
F) Sort of, since the non-camera phone pickings are getting mighty slim, which sucks since m...

If you're refering the V710, I don't know enough about that case to comment on it, except that it has something to do with VZW disabliing the bluetooth? That seems greedy and stupid, but the judge will have to decide if its actually illegal or not.
as far as the poll, there was just too much there to read, so i vote for pedro

If you honestly think that all the people who like their VZW phones are either employees or VZW stockholders, then youve got a PhD in denial my goofy friend.
Strawman. We're discussing Verizon's phone selection, not whether some people like their phones (obviously many do).
If you like fairly large flip phones, most from LG and Samsung, most with cameras, then sure you can have a Verizon phone you like.
If you like smaller bar phones, bluetooth, or don't want a camera, Verizon doesn't have much to offer.
To have a good phone selection, they would need to provide decent phone options for all their potential customers. I don't think that's too controversial.
C) No, its only bad at the high-end (and the new 3G EVDO phones are changing that).

E) No, but it'd sure help if Motorla would pull its head out of its *bleep* and make some better CDMA phones (better phones period actually)

I) Yes, because most/all of their phones don't have Bluetooth.
I use Bluetooth quite a bit with my laptop, PDA, and Cingular equipment (Moto V551 and SE s710a)
I had the Moto V710 and took it back because of more than the BT function.
F: 60%
K: 20%
B: I can't use a camera phone because of work, don't need to take bad pictures anyway. Work supplies a PDA so I dont need one of those either.
Why VZ's selection? It's all about profit.
B: For smaller companies trying to compete with VZ, they have to have gimmicks to attract new customers: more phones, fancy features like Bluetooth, cute models in their ads, etc.
K: For VZ and the other big carrier, the issue is how do we increase our profit per customer? By adding more revenue without increasing expenses: selling additional services like pics, video, data, which don't increase infrastructure requirements as much as adding additional line capacity.
I've heard the industry figures of $ 4-500 to attract...
