Yup, as expected.

Beat ATT in net adds.
Clobbered ATT in postpaid adds (by 2 to 1).
Clobbered ATT in churn/customer loyalty.

Wonder what AvgJoe will have to say about this? I thought the "commie UI" was supposed to be our downfall, and GSM was supposed to "ownzor" us? :lol...

Oh, I'm sure he'll show, BS in hand. 😁

But if he doesn't, we can always just program an AvgJoe Random Post GeneratorÒ”žÂ’.

It would post ten times per day, using the following stock phrases in random order:

ATT is sooo much better, even though they too are a big heartless multibillion dollar corporation
I want to be GSM's babymama

Yeah, but in times like these, where the economy is in the toilet, it is wiser for companies (especially cell phone companies, or any other company providing service most people can't live without) to have great options for all demographics. Don't you agree?

Well, I think that was the key word 'customer stand point'
I think companies need to balance wisely their offers in order to make them appealing to the general public without sacrificing revenue. I think AT&T is doing that just fine. Could be better, but I don't see them running around like chickens with their heads cut off [enter Sprint comment right here]

Don't be silly. Postpaid vs prepaid DOES matter, always has, always will.

For example, last quarter, this was Sprint postpaid:

$58 ARPU, 2.3 percent churn

This was their prepaid:

$28 ARPU, 7.5 percent churn(!)

Which set of customers would you rather have? 😳

Far as ATT's TDMA network shutting down, well boo hoo hoo, but I don't remember any ATT fanbois shedding a tear when VZW was in the exact same boat regarding Amp'd shutting down.

And what is the deal with ATT NOT being able to c...

Until VZW increases it's total subscriber base and total revenue to higher levels than AT&T, AT&T will not have "lost."

Great numbers for Verizon this quarter, but keep in mind next quarter will show similar growth for both carriers. AT&T shut off 330,000 TDMA subscribers, which was a significant part of the lower net adds.

According to you when it comes to net add's post paid and pre paid are the same, no difference at all (total BS but whatever), but when it comes to churn you choose to quote the post paid number for AT&T instead of overall (but choose to use VZ overall), I thought pre paid and post paid were the same? So do you just cherry pick the numbers that make AT&T look best compared to VZ? Interesting.

You can make stats do ANYTHING you want. They have saved many a job!!

The point I was making is the actual differences are not that much. Really 1% ve 1.3% BOTH figures are too low to and not far enough apart to make a difference and ATT is on an UPTREND. Whats going to be the argument when both are ZERO? That will never happen becasue its a fluid market. Thats why those numbers are great for internals but they do not speak to the big picture. You can discount certain stats and doubly count others to...

LOL. As usual, you just don't get it (though why you 'just can't get churn' is beyond me. It's not that hard). Even a difference of 0.3% churn is 600,000 to 650,000 customers per quarter for these guys. That's how big both carriers have gotten.

Not so long ago Verizon fan-boys were Poo Pooing JD Powers when they lost to T Mobile as a non event. Now they tout it as the end all and Holy Grail of confirmation.

Not me. I think T-Mobile deserves all the accolades it gets in Cutomer Service. But on the separa...

Terrible considerinig Veriaon has the better Customer service, best reliability, best coverage area, best call clarity.......

And ATT has the SAME churn results including the 300k that left as Verizon 1.2% Jeeze they are leaving in droves over at ATT what was that Shock 40% turnover in a year?

Considering how much better Veriaon is on all fronts I would say they left A TON of customers on the table for ATT and the others to scoop up.....

NO Veriaon fan boys You need far more than those results to match the best of everything claims.....

How is that BS? Verizon does have a larger network with more 3G coverage, better customer service and so on and so forth, yet they didnt kill AT&T in the 1Q. They should be mopping the floor with net adds, yet they usually get beat, or in this case beat AT&T because of the TDMA sunset.

Thats my point. They routinely tout best of this best of that yet they cannot trounce the competition which in any other market the best does. (See Toyota vs GM) See Windex vs Joes Window cleaner LOL,

Its all HYPE. Verizon signals SUCK in some areas they should not as well as ATT. They do NOT have the best coverage in many areas. They advertise heavily in the areas they do as do the rest of the companies. A...

WOW. VZW has a sucky network now, according to Joe?

Well then, I guess a sucky network is the one that's consistently clobbering ATT in JD Power, Consumer Reports, and churn. Guess that means ATT has a SUPER-sucky network then. 😳

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Joe. Makes sense. Though I'm surprised you'd insult ATT that hard. 😎
