RL-7300 vs VM-4500 battery life, etc.

I'm new to the site--lots of good info. I'm contemplating a replacement for my Sanyo 4900, and have been very happy with Sanyo's quality--the 4900 is my third Sanyo. I'd love the VM-4500, but it's a bit rich for my budget. I'd rather have the camera than the Ready-Link (since I have no one to play with on Ready-Link), but the RL-7300 seems a more attractive phone to me than the RL-2500 (and seems better reviewed). But why is the battery life so short on the RL-7300?

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Like Sprint, but considering T-Mobile's GSM Int'l. phones

Greetings gang!

I've been with Sprint for about 4 years, and have no complaints with the service that I have received during that time. I'm still using my original Qualcomm 2700, but am going to upgrade to something else real soon.

Over the past 2 years I have been making trips to Europe (mostly Russia) about once or twice per year. It would be very convenient if I could use my cell phone while in Europe. However, apparently Sprint doesn't offer any phones that are GSM (SIM card) compatible (or do they?). The ability to just pop-in a SIM card from whatever country I'm visiting sure seems appealing.

After researching other cell companies, the logical choice from what I've read points to T-Mobile. They supposedly have great service on...

Does anyone know what the changes to new plans will be in April?

I am thinking about signing up, but interested if anyone here has the scoop on what the new plans will be in April? If I am concerned about this should I just sign up right at the end of March and if a better deal comes out bring the phone back and ask for it?

Thanks!

Kyocera?

Anyone know if Sprint will bring back Kyocera phones? I really much prefer their phonebook and UI to Samsung and Nokia's.

Toshiba VM 4050 and general question

I have not seen any mention about this phone on this site and its out, I just saw it at Best Buy and it looks REALLY good. Does anyone know anything about it?

Also, Im a current T-Mobile customer but I am looking into switching, and I am curious about text messaging with Sprint. Right now, if I send or recieve a text from friends on my or other phone networks, I get them instantly and can send them very quickly, kind of like IMing on a computer but phone to phone. I have heard that with Sprint, that it is not as easy or instantaneous, that you have to sort of sign into the web interface everytime? Is that true? If so, is it as annoying as it sounds?

Thanks in advance

tex messageing, 4050, sanyo, toshiba and other issues

in the past sprints biggest problem was text messageing, but i am pleased to announce sprint has fixed that problem. yes with the old phones you do have to go in threw the net. however, on the new phones the nokias, the vi660 the vi 600 the sanyo 4500 7300 the treo 600 and the hitachi they all do the new new text messageing a true sms. not threw the web in other words.

the 4050 is an audiovox after all and as far as audiovox is concened they eather make an awsome phone or a peace of crap. the last phoen they made sprint the 9155 the most dependable phone sprint has ever had.

how ever sanyo is the way to go. they do have a stronger signal. in fact it is significantly stronger. there has beens everal times my where i have had 2 bars di...

Sanyo 5500 Battery life

I just got this phone and the battery life is terrible. I get about 24 hours of standby with little use (20 to 30 minutes of Talk). Is this normal or do I have a bad battery? If anyone out there with a 5500 is having the same problem, please let me know.

Data

Sprint is accusing me of using my phone as a modem for my computer. I don't have the cables and they are saying that normal people use about 400kb a month and that mine is at 5,000,000. I have a SPH-620. Anybody having the same problem or can they offer me any suggestions. I have an unlimited plan and they are telling me that they will shut off my phone.

Image decoding failure

I used to upload screensavers to my phone (Samsung A500) all the time, and the last couple of days have tried to do the same, but I keep getting an error "image decoding failure." The images are small enough that they should be fine. Is anyone else having this problem? ☹️
