Considering that Motorola makes more money in a month than entire Illinois state budget for the year, I think it's fair to say that Moto is the "big" in this equation. Calling Illinois "big government" is like calling the geico lizard Godzilla.
But I do agree with your point. Ordinary citizens should not hold the burden of paying for big government. That doesn't mean that corporations should get away without paying what they owe and "taxpayers" are paying out the wazoo for the subsidies that companies like Motorola get every year. Not really, since you can't tax a business, you can only tax people. Sure, there are "corporate taxes," but when you tax a business, the business gets that money by either: a) raising prices on the product they sell, in which case the CUSTOMER pays the tax; b) finding different suppliers for the parts that their product requires, in which case the SUPPLIERS pay the tax in the form of lost revenue, and possibly the customers if the product suffers in quality; c) paying their employees less, in which case the EMPLOYEE pays the "corporate" tax, or d) paying the executives or shareholders less.
