Ugh I thought micro USB was supposed to be the universal charger. Now they are going to change it again?!? 🙄

It is MicroUSB. That is the standard.

No, it's as compatible as any micro-USB charger today.

The thing is, micro-USB chargers today are not as compatible as some people think. The same way an iPhone charger can't charge an iPad - even though they use the same connector - not all micro-USB chargers can properly charge all micro-USB phones.

I believe this new standard simply brings into line the few loose ends that the existing micro-USB standard doesn't specify. This ensures that one standard charger can be used with all standard phones.
