This doesn't just go for Tmo, all of the carriers that are calling their networks 4G when they're technically, not yet at least. Sprint, Verizon and At&t all eventually will get there when they get to the next evolution of LTE and Wimax.

But thats the point teen-mobile will not! They are already on hspa+ wait till Sprint jumps on Wimax 2 its bye bye teen-mobile with your faux 4g network and by then they will start rolling out the lawsuits to poor t-mobile. They may wanna switch back to 4g like speeds in their marketing schemes while they can because there network will not hold water to there claims of 4g. Sprint'S 4G = UNLIMITED + FASTEST + CAPABLE. t-Mobile'S HPSA+ = Capped + Tiered + Limited. Sprint is the NowNetwork tmobile is the maybe one day we will. 🤣

Sprint will never make it unless they expand their network. I travel a lot and carry my Sprint phone but have to use a T-Mobile prepaid phone as a backup due to Sprint only covering metro areas and interstates..Look at their coverage map, its mostly roaming..look at their stock price...under $5..look at their debt...only a matter of time, buyout or merger..

As someone who has both I can say Sprints 3G coverage is much more superior then T-mobiles but T-mobiles coverage and Sprints are pretty neck and neck.

This is very much a true statement-- thank you TmobileCustomer83.

Let's break this down to 3G and 3.5G (since everyone here knows that neither T-Mobile or Sprint truly has a 4G network).

For 3G, the advantage is Sprint's. Sprint 3G (EVDO) has roaming agreements with all the major CDMA carriers (including Verizon in many places), so they can claim a much larger footprint than T-Mobile. T-Mobile's 3G network uses the same technology as AT&T (HSPA), but on a different frequency. T-Mobile has done a marvelous job building up their 3G network, but it does not match the coverage of the CDMA carriers.

For 3.5G, the advantage is T-Mobile's. HSPA+ is an evolutionary upgrade from HSPA, so they can rapidly expand their footprint using the sa...

Wrong Sprint has built out there own very large 3g network and before Verizon aquired alltel Sprint 3g network was the best! Sprint roaming agreement lies heavily with alltel and still does! but Sprint would not be the first and only carrier with 2 phones video chatting over 3g if they did not have the best 3g network to do so. Sprint is the only carrier with 4g technology. 😎
