Firefox is a dinosaur. Okay, maybe not a dinosaur... that's Internet Explorer, but although Firefox is a nice web browser, it's very much a legacy piece of software. Their adoption of HTML5 has been slow compared to Webkit. They still think Ogg Theora has a chance. Their browser core was never mobile-optimized, and they didn't bother starting until way after WebKit took off. Icing on the cake- WebKit does a better job rendering *and* has better developer tools.

I mean seriously, how much longer are they going to drag out that @!King Fennec browser? What is it now, 3 years old and still not ready for primetime? Webkit is fast becoming its own application platform, and FireFox is still trying to bring 2003's desktop internet experie...

You really are full of crap. One of those truly gifted individuals good at spreading false information.

Legacy software? Are you nuts? Have you tried using, say, FF 4.0 beta 6? It's easily as good as Chrome/Opera/IE9. Does Chrome offer the number of add-ons/themes FF does? No. Can you get decent ad blocking with Chrome? No. Does FF leave an updater in your registry when you uninstall it? No. But Chrome does. Has FF had as many issues with privacy as Chrome? No. In fact, HAS FF had any issues with privacy?

Mozilla produces the ONLY browser on the market truly committed to open standards.

You absolutely, in no way, have any idea what you're talking about. Do us all a favor and quit posting.

Who the hell cares in the long run if you can get decent ad blocking? FWIW, I've got fine ad blocking in Safari (my primary browser) , and the extensions gallery is clearly documented- something I can't say for Firefox - and sad because that's FireFox's claim to fame.

Want to know what's ridiculous with Firefox? How about having to give it specific instructions for image borders, border radii, etc. Even IE has it figured out.

Speaking of Open....

Go open up the developer console in FireFox and tell me... oh wait, it doesn't have one. The web is quickly becoming an application platform and Mozilla doesn't have a clue.

And pretending standards such as Ogg Theora are more open is horsecrap too. It's like telling me Flash sup...

FF works great for me and I will continue using it. Rarely crashes and there are plenty of add-ons.

I hate to defend BlueCoyote, but Firefox has more security holes than any of the other browsers. And it is by a wide margin. Its something like 150-ish open security holes that have yet to be patched, followed by Safari at around 90, then Internet Explorer with 46 and Chrome with 44. I stopped using Firefox a while back, and frankly, there isn't much I miss. I just hate the way Chrome handles bookmarks.

I hate Macs, and all things Apple. But have you tried playing with Fennec on Android? Granted, it is an alpha build, but iPhone won't be missing anything by not having it.
