does it say anything about the motorola?
think it just says something about the iPhone..could be mistaken.

First off the smartness isn't need and 2nd if u don't kno what ur talking about don't reply to the question as it clearly states the iphone as an example...

So if anybody knows the answrr to my question please answer

yes if you read the actual article it makes it more clear then what is posted on PS. It does make reference to any cell phone being able to be unlocked and taken to any compatible network

as long as your droid (which techincally is already supposed to be CDMA unlocked) and tell them that and they should do it. If not tell them the new law and point them to where they can find the law in print.

If you think thats all its going to take and BAM! its done, you sound like an ignorant customer and you are setting up this other customer to be very disappointed and frustrated.

I'm not sure how they would impliment this with CDMA phones. It's not as easy as switching sim cards around.

If I tried to activate my Sprint phone on my VZW acct, or vise versa, I would get an error message telling me it's not a valid ESN.

The issue was never about "locked" vs "unlocked".

For you to be able to use the Droid on Sprint you would need:

1) Sprint to use the IMEI/ESN of the device on your line of service.
2) Update the PRL of the device to matchup with Sprint's PRL.
3) Alter the phone settings so that still have access to data services.

Prior to this law, and still after those things (or at least the first item) were necessary to get what you want done.
