I wonder how many other phones have this "flaw"? Those who can should work to keep phone makers honest.

If AT&T lost or misspent it's money anywhere... it was due to the horrible decision making of the suits that agreed to the Apple contract! AT&T didn't spend a lot of money on it's advertising as many people assume incorrectly. Of course, you wouldn't know that... you believe probably believe everything you hear and read if it's something you blindly have preference to.

Apple did admit that the iphones were incorrectly showing reception that it did not have... and yes, that could be perceived as AT&T have a craptacular network. Furthermore, AT&T got the worst ratings of the BIG 4 in Consumer Reports user surveys NATIONALLY in EVERY ASPECT including voice quality, signal, and customer service.

On the flip side, the iPhone owners I know in FL, CA, and GA have no complaints with the AT&T service.
