"having some issues"??? THE PHONES BRICKED
well there's more than one issue. you gotta realize you aren't the only one with an issue. some users are reporting to have rooted the device and that is why it is bricked after the update. but who knows exactly what it is? how about just find a solution.

I don't personally own the phone, so that may disqualify me from commenting to begin with, but the **issue** and reason Sprint pulled the update was because it was rendering the phones completely inoperable. They would not turn back on. My buddy from the Sprint store next to me has two EVO's (store demo's) that won't even hint at turning on.
They think it has something to do with the signal you have when you are trying to update, anything less than 3G/4G or wi-fi and your phone is toast.

My store demo updated with no problems. Listening to P internet radio as we speak!

Good stuff, his personal phone updated perfectly at the same time he was updating the store demo's.

As I posted elsewhere I would hold off in the update. However the update went fine for most I have talked to. As for me my phone seemed a bit off at times yesterday but have not used it enough today to judge.
It should be noted many who had major problems had rooted their phone.

weirdness.
Maybe patience really is a virtue! 😉

Phone today is working great. No idea why it went wonky after the update yesterday but all is well today. On the downside I can't say the battery has improved. Glad I ordered the extended one on eBay.
