Glad I'm just a lame dumb phone user. I don't walk around with my phone listening to music, watching TV, downloading a bunch a crap that in no way increases the quality of life. How lame right? I go outside and interact with people face to face!

Gee I'm sorry. Listening to Pandora on the bus ride or 8 hour road trip really hurt the quality of my life.
Sending to pictures to friends while I travel really stinks. I should bring them all with me!
Checking my bank account on the go to see if a client paid me really isn't worth the hassle.
Oh same goes with email. It really stinks not having to sit in front of a computer to get email. Or better yet, if I want to ask a friend if they got into grad school I should just pay $300.00 , fly across country, visit them face to face, ask them, then pay $300.00 to fly back. 🤣

i agree with what Gunny is saying here what was life like before these ridiculous smart phones. We all managed just fine living life with pay phones and without your precious facebook. when we went out for dinner we actually communicate with each other instead of staring at our smartphone. those who never used a Polaroid camera i guess will never understand. bravo Gunny.

I'm glad you got it heaven for bid we bring back those pictures and sit down and share the experiences with our loved ones, or read a book while we're on the bus, or I don't know make a phone call if you have a question for your friend. I'm just glad I'm old enough to understand that simplifying your life can bring you much joy.

I don't think anyone was arguing about how cool some of these gadgets are, Gunny is only sharing that he is happy that he's not caught up in all of it. Not everyone needs to spend 500 bucks on an ipad, some like to buy books for .25 cents at garage sale! And you know what? They are just as happy about it!

Yep!!! Cellphone certainly simplifies my life, I haven't owned an alarm clock, or calculator in well over 8yrs, and I've never owned an mp3 player, what do I need that for, my Droid has a 3.5 headphone jack.
