Those are world-wide figures for Apple: http://www.tipb.com/2010/01/25/apple-releases -q1-2010-financial-results/

Comparing those figures to Motorola US domestic sales, are not accurate. The Droid is still outselling the iphone in the US. 😉

Where are you getting that information, considering AT&T activated more iPhones last quarter than Verizon Wireless even added as a company.

It could be true... I couldn't find any figures, but say this is the scenario (these are all made up numbers):

* AT&T activated 2 mil iPhones (new)
* AT&T activated 3 mil iPhones (upg)

* Verizon activated 1.9 mil phones (new)
* Of the 1.9 mil, 1 mil were Droids (new)
* Verizon activated 6 mil phones (upg)
* Of the 6 mil, 5 mil were Droids (upg)

Just throwing out random numbers to show you that a scenario could exist where the Droid outsold the iPhone domestically, even if you're right and AT&T activated more iPhones than Verizon did new lines.

That's gotta be the stupidest scenario I have ever seen.

You Just Said, "Just throwing out random numbers to show you that a scenario could exist where the Droid outsold the iPhone domestically, even if you're right and AT&T activated more iPhones than Verizon did new lines."

Look at the numbers you put up-

AT&T Total Lines - 5 Million
Verizon Total Lines - 7.9 Million

Your logic doesn't work because your numbers still showed Verizon with a total greater than AT&T's... LMFAO!!!

🤣

You're looking at it incorrectly.

Apple sold 8.8M iPhones worldwide.

Here's a quote directly from Motorola's quarterly results:

Mobile Devices sales of $1.6 billion; shipped 8.5 million handsets, including 2.3 million smartphones; operating loss of $192 million.

Both companies are based in the U.S. Apple, as a U.S. maker of cell phones, sold more phones than Motorola. It doesn't matter where those phones were sold.

Also, how could the Droid have outsold the iPhone if Motorola only shipped 2.3M smartphones in total?

Activations on AT&T and/or Verizon don't count in this comparison. It's about the total number of handsets shipped by U.S. phone makers.

Apple shipped more than Motorola. End of story.
