No, seriously. It's getting old.

Be yourself Google, do something DIFFERENT.

Palm, your a great company, do something DIFFERENT.

Blackberry, well, moving on...

Symbian, I live in the United States, do something for ME!

Windows, You might be onto something...

And seriously, to all of the manufactures...

WE ALREADY HAVE AN IPHONE!!!!
STOP MAKING DEVICES THAT "KIND OF LOOK LIKE THE IPHONE BUT AREN'T REALLY THE IPHONE"

Let Apple be Apple.

Stop trying to be Apple.

What does that have anything to do with "Android 2.1 Update for Droid Officially Underway?" You just ranted on and on about... nothing that has to do with this article. Stop trying to be ignorant 😉

Then why didn't you make the same rant about apple when last year they finally added copy and paste, not to mention picture mail and OH ya video recording!

Yeah, I guess you're right, It just looks like the thought process went a little something like this:

Hey look at the iPhone, it's pretty popular let's make an iPhone killer. We will design an all touch-screen interface with thousands of apps to download, multiple homepages that you swipe back and forth to get to and throw in pinch to zoom.

I don't know. If the iPhone sucks so bad, how did it become so popular, I mean, advertising only does a certain amount before people owning the device return it, throw it away and never come back.

Why does the Iphone do so well?
Because their are more simple minded individuals who love simplicity, then those who enjoy more complicated and challenging devices, therefore the demand is high.

the iphone doesn't have multiple homescreens, their homescreen is an "app drawer" for most other devices.

apps were out before the iphone (mainly for WINMO) but apple really made them popular. again, a phone having apps isn't them just trying to copy apple. it's a consumer expectation + something that's been done before.

and MS came up with pinch zoom (and apparently a company in Taiwan was the first to patent it) not apple. They made these things popular, they didn't come up with the concept, just tweaked it

No, that's the one consumers are most excited about, not the biggest new feature.

(fyi, you can't tell a device to "be different" when it has to market to the same consumers)

The big features of 2.1:

-New gallery with Picasa syncing. I can't even begin to describe how awesome this is. say that I go camping (with my actual camera) and take a couple dozen pictures. If I want to show someone, I don't have to go to a computer or deal with a web interface, I just go into my gallery and open the file and the phone pulls the image to the temp storage of my device so I can show them. The new gallery is also an improvement in and of itself for navigating folders.
-Optimization tweaks. Apps load faster, the built in memory manager seems...

Live wallpapers differentiates Android from the Iphone. Apple wasn't cool enough to think of that one 😁

Dude.. Duckhunt as your wallpaper is AWESOME!

So... about your activation fee thing.. you can try and see what it does. But generally waived activation fees are part of promotions, not everyday things.

Very true, both are good products and sure many phones share similar or same features. Its like yelling at all aircraft makers being blamed because the Wright Brothers thought of wings for airplanes.
