When I was younger delivering pizza about ten years ago I got into an accident while texting someone. I was lucky enough to hit a parked car with nobody in it but in a matter of a couple seconds not looking at the road I wound up getting in the only car accident of my life. I can't even imagine how many bad drivers there are out there that get into accidents because they are too busy looking at their phone instead of the road.

are already on the books. Do you really need a politician to tell you that texting while driving is foolish. Come on. You knew you were wrong when you did this. having a law on the books just means you will get a ticket for texting while driving rather than distracted driving. People are still going to do it.

If a person gets a ticket for doing something unsafe while driving they typically won't do it again and become more aware of their mistake. If a cop can catch a person and give them a ticket before they get into an accident to teach them a lesson then they could also be saving a life.

A bar does not exist currently to accurately measure how stupid you are. I'm aware of the rules about posts that "attack" ppl, but there is no other way to describe you but stupid IF you are serious.

Or you could do neither and not risk killing ppl. And actually it's been proven that txting can be just as distracting to a driver as drinking would be to a driver's reflexes. So i reiterate my last: your stupidity = immeasurable.

I agree in part...the problem is 80% of the population doesn't have any common sense, so they DO need laws to tell them things like this.

every time they make a law everyone will stop doing....what ever??

Why do we no longer have any smarts or responsibility? We need the government to police and control everything. We might have 40 laws for one thing or another but lets do just one more. Where I live there is soon to be a law that says cars MUST pass a bike and rider by I forget but it is like five to ten feet. How can that be enforced?

If it is now texting what is next? Changing the radio? Adding a new CD? Talking to some one? There is going to be a new law in our area on that also. But it only covers text on a cell. Check email from a phone, Fine. Or as many truck driver now have laptops in their truck. No law covers that. Plus how about just talking on the cell? If ha...

Tottaly agree with you hear. This is getting retarded. Don't most State troopers have laptops in their cars as well? Is that not a distraction? Or responding to a call on the radio? That is just another call. EMT's, firemen, police officers, etc. rely on these communications to do their job correctly. At the rate this is going, they will no longer be allowed to communicate from their vehicles because it is a distraction and gives them an elevated risk at having an accident.

This is getting rediculous
