Do you want to know who's guilty of false advertising? There's a map for that...

Verizon paints their entire coverage map red leading people to beleive that they have full service with 3g speeds everywhere. Even in areas that you get 0-1 bars with dial up data speeds.

This is the case at my house, my mom's and my gf's parents. You constantly drop calls at all their homes, and in a lot of cases the coverage is so poor that your phone won't even ring if someone calls, and data speeds are slower than dial up. But if you look on Verizon's coverage map all those places are all red with no white spots in sight, leading you to assume full coverage with 3g.

It's time someone put an end to Verizon's crap.

to toggle 3g on their map online you have to look at their "broadband access" map, not coverage map. The red map online shows voice coverage.

And no carrier guarantees coverage in houses.

Exactly. Compare the gaps on Verizon Wireless' broadband map. The maps on the commercials are accurate. Unlike AT&T, Verizon Wireless took the initiative to continuously update its broadband areas to Rev A, leaving only 1X for voice (and slower data) and EVDO Rev A.

Anything that ISN'T WHITE on Verizon Wireless' online broadband map is 3G. The online broadband map isn't even in red, but it's changed to red for the commercials. The coverage between 1X and EV really is that close, though. The Alltel acquisition really helped in filling things in, in my opinion.

It's still misleading, if you see all red at your house you would expect good service. At least ATT will show you "fair, better, best" so you have an idea of what you're going to have. And looking at the broadband map, instead of all red, (real big shock here) it's all blue in the same areas as I mentioned previously, I don't consider dial up speeds to be equal to broadband... And as far as the "not guarenteed to work in houses" arguement, it's even like that outside their houses. You can run all over outside and it wouldn't make a differece.

then submit a ticket. If the coverage is inaccurate they will either fix the towers or adjust the map.

Verizon spends billions on their network every quarter. Take advantage of it.
