AT&T: iPhone to Get MMS September 25
What happened to not having to upgrade hardware to get OS updates?
It's upsetting that I'll have to pay an extra $10 per month AND shell out $100-200 to get MMS when new hardware doesn't seem to be necessary.
Darn thing still won't fully multi-task either.
It isn't merely the cost of the plan. It's Apple supporters constantly bringing up the iPhone as a device that doesn't get left behind (read: you don't have to buy new hardware to get new software). So, because my 1st Gen' iPhone has been left behind, I have to spend $100-200 for new hardware if I want new software that my CURRENT phone can support.
I know that selling my old iPhone will off set a majority of the cost of upgrading to a new iPhone, but it's the principle!
Am I no longer using a revolutionary device?

you have to pay even *more* for MMS? that's not included in either the data or texting plan? so let me get this right, unlimited voice, data, text, and mms will run $160?
No, ATT has already stated you will not have to pay extra for MMS. Don't know why he OP said you would. but you don't. It's included.
I don't know how to put this lightly, but you have never been using a revolutionary device.
You can't expect Apple to support a device that is over 2 yrs old, the fact that they still do updates on it is astonishing. So either upgrade or you can't send poorly lit photos to uninterested people.

Your phone has a 2 mp camera with no flash, it doesn't work real well when your hands are cold, it has 8 or 16 gb of storage with no sd card support, a non-removable battery and has a hard to modify user interface, and all of this works on the 2G network.

Please inform us of a Revolutionary phone that is currently out please.
BTW: The G1 got a Update that enhanced the Resolution of the screen. The iPhone is getting a Update that allows MMS. That in itself is leaps ahead wouldn't you say?
