Hmm, Java-based SIM cards...

Usually it's the cellphone that is Java based, not the sim card. I guess these new Java based sim cards will be part of this new LTE (4G) revolution.

It sure will be very, very interesting to see what sort of handsets Verizon has 14-18mo`s from now.

I just hope batteries get much, much better in the next 18 months, as phones become ever more increasingly multimedia centric.

Do we even know what the benefit is of a Java-based sim card? As far as I know java based cellphones are good enough.

In the newer Verizon LTE article, it mentions that the cards will only work in "Certified Verizon LTE devices." I think it may be a way to take carrier locks to the card. That would suck.
