Apparently you all did not understand my point of the thread. VOIP has already been discussed within the US market in Wimax. Check out youtube for some demonstrations. I understand global markets and tech is important to what happens around the world, but it seems the only story I see about WiMax is in the foreign market. And every other day I see an LTE story. VOIP with Wimax (old Idea). Has anyone even read the paragraph/story? It's nothing new, enough said.

im sorry everyone, but i have to agree with stoopered. I was reading a few articles on rcrwireless news that were alot more interesting than korea getting wimax. you really cant get into too much detail than just plain out saying "korea is getting wimax". That pretty much somes up the whole story right there. On another note though, we are definately behind on technology compared to other countries, and i do hope that korea can make something out of this.

We as wireless consumers don't need any more restrictions and control which I believe LTE is based on. This is why I believe all the major carriers that already bleed us of money want LTE. If they can get everyone to join their "party", what govern...

I don't know how it works. I just want to know will it work and how much it's going to cost me. If the price is right...sign me up.

It's nothing new...to you. For the casual Phonescooper, this may be the first exposure to the idea. I say let's get it going. Perhaps there will be no need for dual mode Wi-Max/CDMA handsets if WiMax can allow voice AND data. Again, I do not know what the possibilities are... That's why I glance at phone scoop when I get a chance.
