Exec: Samsung to Intro Android Phone in Second Quarter 2009

The GSM codebase for Android looks pretty strong. Samsung could really help solidify the CDMA version of Android. Maybe that will lure Verizon into supporting it.

There will be a GMS and CDMA. One for Sprint and on for T-Mo..."On December 18, industry insiders said that Samsung Electronics is currently in the development process of its new Google phone to release out in the second quarter of the next year via Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA in North America."

Right about the time I'm due for my one year discount.

Whatever happened to that whole "Android isn't quite ready for the big time" or whatever crap that was that Sprint spouted out?

Wasn't ready. Doesn't mean it won't be ready. Sprint I'm sure will pick up. And my feelings it will be by summer.

With the "Cupcake" update releasing in the next month which will add A2DP Bluetooth profile, copy paste, and video capture just to name a few means Android is very close to being ready.
