I played around with this thing at an agent fair last week. the big circle is like a touchpad on a laptop and tracks pretty well. I seem to remember it being touchscreen too, but there were a ton of phones from the Storm to a few basic Motorolas on display, so I could be wrong.

This phone could at a 85% chance of having a touch screen like the one Verizon did have but got rid of.

Ive see the Storm and loved it.

Verizon has a lot of phones planed for the future, ones people wouldnt think Verizon would come out with...

I got to play with this device when a Samsung rep came in. Yes, it has touchscreen. It uses the harder touchscreen like on the Glyde but more accurate. The track pad is awesome! I think they finally have a good PDA on their hands. ๐Ÿ˜

AT&T has a phone exactly like this. It's made my samsung, has a touch screen, has a track pad with a cursor, uses windows pro 6.1, and has wifi. And, it's more attractive. Point blank, AT&T is better. lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

I completely and 100% agree with you. Honestly, all of you Verizon people, you are getting WAY WAY too defensive. We are talking about cell phone service, this isn't politics or religion or anything of that nature that people usually get defensive about... it's CELL PHONE SERVICE. I honestly think it's kind of funny how uptight tyler and thom are getting about this subject. Obviously, you are happy with Verizon, and Kewzee is happy with AT&T. So quit acting immature, because it's making you sound stupid and like you have no idea what you are talking about, which is the exact opposite of how you're trying to sound. Thanks sweeties ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'd be perfectly happy to try AT&T or any other GSM provider for that matter...but none of the major GSM providers have coverage where I live (more like a 5 state region) and the only GSM provider here is a very small company that has little to no coverage and won't let you use unlocked phones...needless to say I do like Verizon, but if I had more options I wouldn't be opposed to trying them.

it takes me about 30-45 sec. to change my Verizon phone to another phone, i dial *228 and press option 3 and put in the phone code. thats it!

And its pretty sad when i had at&t, and they shut your service off for too much Roaming. And its sad when the wokers at the AT&T store have Verizon as there cell service. But, i do feel kinda bad for the under paid wokers there.

Umm.. moving into a ROAMING AREA! look at the coverage map, anything in striped orange is called OFF NET USAGE, aka Roaming...

And it says:

Usage: If your minutes of use, data usage or messaging usage (including unlimited services) on other carrier networks (off-net usage) during any two consecutive months exceed your off-net usage allowance, AT&T can, at its option, terminate your service, deny your continued use of other carriers coverage, or change your plan to one imposing usage charges for off-net usage. Your off-net usage allowance is equal to the lesser of 750 minutes or 40% of the Anytime Minutes, the lesser of 6 MB or 20% of the MB included with your plan, or the lesser of 3000 messages or 50% of the messages included with you...

Well now, I guess since I work for AT&T, I don't realize how it affects actual customers at all.....oh wait, I have dealt with this before and talked with several customers about the situation!

95% of the time, if someone lives outside of the service area (considered roaming), from my own experience, AT&T will not let them upgrade, but will offer to let them out of their contract without a termination fee to sign up with a carrier that services their area. Again, I say from my own experience, because I have yet to have any other solution happen. But AT&T does NOT shut off your service because you move (which is what your original post said).

i said i moved into a roaming area... and i was in a roaming area which said that they were sorry but our service would be shut off or we could have it made where only we could make calls in at&t coverage which is like 400 miles away. and sure enought we couldnt use our phones one day. you really dont know alot about your company do you?

I know more then you're willing to concede to. My entire point was to say AT&T did not punish you because you moved, they punished you for not using your phone on their towers. Companies have to pay extra money to let you use your phone on another company's towers, and if you do it too much, the company pays more per month then you pay them, so they literally lose money keeping you. Thankfully, in the contract itself, it does state if you are out of the area, we will let you out of your contract without paying the ETF. So, again, according to your statement, they shut off your service when you moved, when in truth, they said they WOULD shut it off if you kept using it there.

Well let me give you some advice before you start working there. Talking crap about other carriers is 1)immature 2)unprofessional and 3)if you really believe Verizon is the best network, and you HONESTLY believe that, then you shouldn't have to talk crap about other carriers to make a point, you could think of other sales strategies. I could talk crap about Sprint, Verizon, and T-mobile all I want to customers, but I believe in AT&T and our coverage enough to where I don't need to talk crap just to sell service. Just a tip, honey.

It won't be for a while then, cause normally it takes close to a year to convert GSM to CDMA and vice versa, and the phone was announced in June. Any official links for that?

Quad GSM is NOT just for overseas use. When you unlock the phone (and Verizon WILL unlock it, unlike AT&T and Tmobile) you will be able to use the GSM domestically as well. I have the Motorola V3C dual band for overseas use. I suspect that VZ will be expanding their service to include GSM. Why else would they release a QUAD band phone??? HMMMM? Also, please keep conversation on topic. This forum is not to argue the pros and cons of AT&T and VZ.
