now if we wanna compete with walmart were gonna have to do an override, that means we won't get our proper pay for the equiptment and most people won't even bother anyways and get it from walmart, way to go T, this was supposed to "get us over the top in our quotas and do big things for us as front line sales associates" kinda hard when some high school kid who reaks of stridex pads and a cracking voice tells bill joe jim bob roy this phone will replace your computer and cook you brunch on sundays

lmao nice one. But true, they don't get paid commision, or even a bonus, just minimum wage, so what incentive does he have to work harder than he has to?

Take it from a Sprint Employee. People learn very quickly not to go to third parties to buy their phones. As soon as something goes wrong, they walk into my store to complain and want to exchange it. I have to tell them to go back to the Best Buy or Radio Shack they bought it from. It only takes one of those to get them in the corporate store for good.

Depends on the store too, Costco (where I work at) has THE BEST return policy (90 days), and we always help a customer if they need it. Costco is known for good customer service, unlike Best Buy.
The only thing we can't do is billing issues, unless we made the mistake we can't fix it =(

The incentive for me is to be better than that corp store down the street. I know my stuff, I have many of the same phones the corp stores do for less, what I don't have for the most part I can order online, and I enjoy helping people without being high pressure like the corp stores. I don't think I'd enjoy trying to shove a media package down someone's throat that obviously doesn't want it, or a text bundle to an elderly lady who only wants to make emergency calls, but wants a phone more reliable than a prepaid. Also, I like seeing people walk out of the department with with a phone, and money still to afford other things like groceries.

I'm a consumer not a rep I have an idea if your able to do this. Accessories are absolute rip offs at cell phone stores, example $30 frinkin dollars for a BB Curve charger, so I suggest you tack on a 25% discount on accessories the same day a customer buys phone from you. That way they have somethings to support they're new device, and they can walk out of your store feeling like they got a deal.
Side note: Any discount less than 25% isn't much of a discount.
Personally I'm glad I'm a smart enough consumer not to be ripped off and pay $30 for a charger when I know damn well I can get one on ebay for no more than $10 (incl. shipping)
2nd example Motorola Bluetooth H12 earpiece $59 @ AT&T store, I found it on ebay for $20 less w/free ...
