VERIZON HATES THEIR CUSTOMERS

it looks like Verizon just dislikes us for whatever reason...

they crack up the prices, and that's not sufficient, they supply with all market's garbage to us, and forcing us to buy it, and when something decent appears on the market they are the last one to get it, and not just last one but the last one with few years of delay!

remember good old RAZR? how long did it took them to finally get it? back in the days I was probably one of the first one who got it, but look at this phone now! color is pealing off, the are giving it away for free now, whatever happened to my $250??? where is the value in that?

I hate them too! I'm really thinking to switching, even though I like their service, but lately they not performing at their 100%,...

trust me when I say this: I am not a verizon or ATT guy. and if at all possible I will stay away from the two most expensive carriers out there. However, Verizon is slowly switching to GSM for several reasons. the phone selection is one of them. until then I think you will see something arriving from the Verizon Horizon soon that may get your attention.

wait, if you are referring to dual band phones, GSM & CDMA... well that doesn't really counts as GSM, as Verizon said you can only use GSM whenever you go overseas or in another words they wont provide you with service using GSM phone, they are CDMA only in US

thanks for clarifing the dual band. That's a good point that was left out. however Verizon has begun the slow process of CDMA to GSM. they will need to do this to accept the LTE 4G bandwagon they jumped aboard with.

I didn't know about that, but even so, I can imagine how much time it's going take them to migrate to 4G, it'll be in 2020!

actually, 4G is the latest and greatest buzz to hit the wireless industry and you very well may see this before 2020. it could be as early as 2012. everyone is going to eventually be operating off this technology. it will be far superior than anything you have ever experienced in wireless.

I'd be very pleased, yet 2012 that's like 3-4 years from now... that's length of at least 2 contracts away...

🤣 I know what your saying! 2 whole contracts. well working on wall street ,at least you can keep an eye on where those dollars you spend are going. just in case your interested The other technology is Wimax. if you don't want to wait till LTE, this is going to be up and running very shortly. probably by the end of next year. if your a business person, this is definitely something you'll want to study. but again , you are a verizon customer so you won't be get wimax. just google search WiMax.

If your not sure what your talking about, don't just make things up, and then continue to talk about it as if you know what your talking about. Verizon is not switching to gsm, end of story. LTE and GSM are not one in the same, nor do they need to switch to gsm prior to LTE.

You are correct. LTE and GSM are not the same thing. I don't believe I said they were. LTE is simply a 4th generation system for broadband transmisions. but it needs a platform to operate. LTE is not GSM but it is a progression of GSM's UMTS platform. I said that Verizon is going to GSM and I will stand by that posting. Can CDMA operate on LTE? yes because LTE and Wimax are technically 75-85 percent the same. far more compatible than GSM Vs CDMA. But there are technical compromises that can always be rectified.
But here's the real Deal: Verizon and Vodefone are sister companies that were in the talks of parting ways. since Vodafone and Deutch telekom are the biggest companies in the world, GSM has the biggest footprint in terms of what's be...

Really....wow.
Ummm....If you are feeling that bad about VZW that you have to troll and flame, MAYBE, just MAYBE you should cancel your contract and move on.
I'm not with VZW because of the phone selection. I'm with them because of the call quality and signal strength I get.
Nothing would please me more than AT&T cleaning up their act around here in my neck of the woods. That way I could import my phones and have a better quality device.
BUT, I live in a real world where a device is only as good as it's network, directly related to your geographic location.
If AT&T works better where you are and go than VZW, why are you trolling here? Go get service with them and stop whining about VZW 🙄

Anarkie...while your response is rather abrasive and may hold merit on your experience with phone signal and quailty, it should not constitute a lack of opinion on somebody elses. There is no disputing Verizon has awesome coverage. But I don't need the coverage and I don't need the high bill.
So here's my opinion: I think you pay way too much for service that offers no more than what everyone else offers except a maybe signal where in your area. I get a signal where I live with 4 different carriers but I refuse to sign with a carrier where I have to pay a higher bill to offset somebody else having service. does that make your carrier horrible? No. Not at all. but I like the fact that mine caters to what I need. Not what I will never use.
