More importantly...who knew LTE would be ready next year!

they don't tell you that you will have to wait a few years before LTE is even up and running on test markets in the states. but still even without LTE, it will be nice to have internet on a plane.

I agree totally with you slammer. Business depends heavily on marketing. because of the Wimax and LTE technology coming into the light as the next generation of communications, it was very convenient for Delta to throw in a plug for LTE since this could be a factor for booking their flights. but as you stated, they will have internet next year but not LTE. LTE is at least acouple of years away from testing in a few markets. They realize Wimax is rolling out now and will be ready so they don't want anyone to go to a different airline that may use Wimax. does this make any sense?

What ever happened to sleeping on flights? Thats what I do. Maybe I'm just lazy.

OK, it states specifically that they're using Wi-Fi, onboard. Presumably, LTE will be used to connect the plane to towers on the ground. From the passenger's perspective, it won't matter what technology the airline uses, since it will be WiFi they're using to connect.
