You shouldn't judge a company on an experience you had years ago. Companies change. Manaement changes.

The management hasn't changed at Verizon - the UI is still the same (with minor tweaks & updates, but still the same universal UI), and they still offer phones that are less-than fully capable.

One could easily argue that Verizon has had the least changes in the past few years.

hmm, what other features are you needing. I can transfer pictures to my pc through bluetooth, have stereo bt, transfer outlook contacts and calender events through bt, connect to car's nav handsfree, send free ringtones through mms. my ui will let me set all the shortcuts on my phone so i don't even look at it, just hit one button to get where i want, plus video walpaper.

Just curious what feature is keeping you away or has it been years since you have tried one, they have really lightened up on this stuff over the past few years

Yeah they are just repeating uneducated dribble. Let them think what they want, who cares. Good post!

from one verizon phone to another is fine for transfering data. Then you try to transfer information with a different carriers phone and you seem to be left with a pile of garbage. Hm. I like verizon, but they cripple phones and put the nasty ui on there that I would compare to a next day remains of a corn feed.

Ah yes, I love the "Crippled Phones" argument, great little chestnut.

As has already been posted, what features exactly are you missing? The phones these days support just about every single BT profile under the sun. Are you upset that you can't operate your BT enabled microwave from your phone?

Tell that to all those Sprint haters. How many times have you read about a someone going off about how bad their Sprint service was 5 years ago? It gets old.

I know Sprints having issues right now, but my phone works fine for me, and has never had the problems i had with my VZ phones from a few years ago.

It would take alot for me to go back to a VZ phone. The phones, signal and cs were horrible. But that was about 5 years ago.

I never tell anyone that VZ sucks. I say that they have great reception, good phones and they get good marks for cs in surveys.

I don't bash...

you really did call this one. Im surprised it happenend this fast. Kinda crazy. 2009 is going to be a very interesting year for vzw.

And does this mean we might get the charcoal curve like alltel has, 🙂

I'm sure the refugees that switched to Alltel from Verizon are going to be thrilled. When I met Scott Ford he seemed like a sincere and honest person, and the way he talked he was very passionate about keeping Alltel out of the buyouts and mergers, and that was in fact the impetus for the private equity purchase. Guess he's a scummy douchebag too. Shame, he was pretty cool.

I guess I will be dropping my Alltel Service, I may work for Alltel but I won't have any personal lines with the company. T-Mobile and AT&T for me, I suppose. Once all of the dust settles with this merger I'll be moving into a different industry. Meh, what a crap move by upper management.

So the customers who specifically do NOT like Verizon, for one reason or another, and migrated to Alltel will be thrilled?
