That hurts..... Congrats to Verizon for that sound investment!
...
Yeah. Very good investment. I read somehwere, though, that if VZW and Vodafone were unable to meet the quota, then RIM was to begin selling to other carriers. I'll see if I can find the link.
...
That shouldn't be a problem Verizon alwasy cracks the wip on meeting quottas.
...
Thats true...no need for a link.
And who cares if other carriers have it...we get it FIRST!! Thats all I really care about

Generally, I'd say the first release will have some bugs that the next update won't have, but given it's from RIM, it's going to be a pretty good device. I'll jump all over that when a GSM version comes out.

Verizon and Vodaphone have a Lifetime Exclusivity with this phone. Like AT&T has 5 yrs with Apple iphone and all it's variants. Verizon/Vodaphone will have this locked down for every single different verison that is to come. So expect CDMA/EVDO-GSM/HSDPA and then another verison in 2 or 3 yrs (again Verizon/Vodaphone only) with LTE added in.

This model will have no keyboard so RIM can always release an ATT touchscreen/keyboard phone.

And that exclusivity isn't set in stone. You can't compare RIM to Apple. Apple has exlcusive deals with AT&T. RIM sells to all carriers. That right there should be enough to clue people in that the thunder will be released to all carriers in due time. Voda/VZW might be able to get it done but i REALLY doubt it. And that's no knock against them, it's just believing that RIM wants all the profit that it can get
