I can't wait to hear how it works out - real world speeds, penetration of buildings, etc.

WiMax is a promising technology. With a ~2 year head start over LTE it might even be enough to save Sprint.

Sprint is a joke! They don't even have EVDO in our area yet! Granted it was an affiliate area to begin with but they've owned this area since March 2006. Nobody here takes them seriously! Alltel and Verizon both have EVDO in our area. Sprint put your money where your mouth is!

Get over yourself just cause your upset sprint laid you off. There are other companies, keep searching. Just cause you dont have evdo where you live does not mean that it isnt out there. Find the right carrier for where you are and then be happy when they come out with their respective LTE networks 2-5 years after sprint. In your area it might be 10 though

Eh, I don't know about that.

Sprint's customer care may suck, but Sprint has the best plans by far that matches quality for price. Like, T-Mobile is definitely cheaper, but slow internet and not great coverage. Verizon, awesome company with a great network...but my God they are expensive. Sprint can give you a lot more for a lot less...just don't call into customer care...ever...

Sprint has far greater EVDO coverage nationwide than does Verizon. It may not be in your area, but it's in MORE areas than Verizon, due to the fact they won't allow roaming on EVDO with other carriers like Sprint and Alltel do.

Besides, Verizon cripples ALL of their devices, so who really cares what they have in terms of high speed internet when you are forced to access everything on the net via a crummy WAP brow...

Well the Verizon fanboys shut up when they have to answer for the low quality crippled phones they offer. It may be the network but the handset is what accesses it.
