I don't think it's odd at all! With declining costs of Wireless Systems and the increasing costs for wire systems it's probably cheaper to setup a Wireless System to cover remote users than it used to run wire to them. They're just being economically smart by looking at using this option!

I would have thought its odd that a small wireline provider would be bidding for a part of the 700 spectrum but that is a really good idea! Ultimately cheaper to send out a broad signal than to run DSL lines. Especially in remote areas.
