does this mean that my iPhone will work on 3G? Or is this only for upcoming devices? That might be dumb, sorry.

I'm assuming that this means that for all upcoming devices, they will be 3G, and eventually all Smartphones and iPhones sold by AT&T will be 3G. It doesn't necessarily mean that if you have a smartphone or iPhone now that it will become 3G. It needs a 3G chip inside of it for it to be capable of capturing 3G signals.

It sounds like the article is saying current 2g phones will be 3g phones so I see the confusion.

Yeah, it does kind of sound like that. They should probably reword that article as not to confuse people who may be thinking that their current iPhones will somehow have 3G.

I agree, but think that anyone who has a username on this site should know better. Generally, people who have a username and password on a site for cell phones know more than the average person.

Not to bash on you or anything, but aren't we on forums to ask question and discuss topics? If he doesn't know, then maybe he can learn. It's people like you though who discourage other people to ask questions and better their knowledge. So in the end this is a product of your own making.

Well....the only reason I have a username and password on this site is because I've been in, and currently am in the wireless business. I wouldn't have a username and password to a site to answer simple questions. Those can be answered in Yahoo! answers, or by google. That's just me, however. I realize some people don't know how to search answers out and just join cell phone site fourms to answer a simingly silly question.

Captian Defensive.
