AT&T Wireless had something like this a few years ago..

AT&T Wireless, not "The New AT&T," had a similar app in 2003 on my Nokia 3200. It was okay and worked with MapQuest from the "M-Life" menu. It cost $6.00/month so this is a better price. It did save me once when I was lost in Nashville, TN. Once Cingular came about, it vanished. This is running great on my BlackBerry Curve from T-Mobile but if my Bluetooth is on, it tries to pair with a GPS device and won't attempt to find my location but, it is a beta. 🙂
