iphone killer? LOL

AT&T corporate upper management are laughing their butts off at VZW's "iphone killer" statement much like Sprint's ambitions to leapfrog 3G and go straight to 4G. This pitiful looking knockoff is one of many "ME TOO!" devices that don't come close to the iphone's superiority. Nice of VZW to immitate not innovate :-) as usual LOL

i agree that the voyager will not be the "iphone killer" but the "iphone competitor". I also agree that VZW is slacking on having or getting innovative phones...

but...

the key words there are "having" and "getting" because no carrier makes these phones, the manufacturers do. So in your attempt to praise at&t while bashing sprint and verizon, you failed to make a solid point. While at&t is getting all the "innovative" phones created by the manufacturers, not at&T, Verizon and Sprint are attempting to do things that they can actually control themselves (example: sprint skipping 3g and verizon having the best network). Nice try though

p.s. the iphone has no superiority over anything. it is innovative, making it new and exciting... but ...

There is a lot of press review claiming it's VZW attempt to kill the iPhone, but I don't think they've labeled Voyager as iPhone killer. The debate rolls on...iPhone, superior phone...VZW, superior network. We've yet to see (and may never see) the perfect marriage.

I heard Verizon is trying to OJ to be the spokesperson for the Voyager, since it takes a killer to promote a killer!

The ruff draft comerical has OJ talking on the phone in his white Bronco when he's cut off by a San Fran hippy-type talking on his iPhone. OJ follows the hippy-type to the hippy-type's loft, where he puts on black gloves, rips the iPhone out of the hippy-type's hand, and cuts the iPhones so called "scratch proof" glass touch screen in half....

I could not agree more with you there. Its not the mobile providers designing and manufacturing these phones its the compainies like LG,Samsung, and Nokia who make these phones. THe carrier just provides a platform for them to be fuctional. As far as a iPhone killer there will never be a iPhone killer just like there will never be another Micheal Jordan,or Mohammad Ali thery were all inovators the begining of a new era that changed the way we looked at the game! The iPhone is just that an inovation in the mobile game that will forever change the mobile industry!
When are we going to see some new PDA phones? Tired of Blackberry and Palm!

I also agree it will not be the iPhone killer. Maybe competitor, as the Zune is to the iPod, but nothing more.

The Voyager is a unique phone. Yes it's touch screen feature reminds you of the iPhone but it's Qwerty keyboard is evidence in itself that the phone is no knockoff of apple's device. I think it is going to do extremely well. It has that touchscreen, it can be used as a multimedia center, and it's attractive.

I wouldn't be surprised if people drop their current contracts and come over to Verizon just for this phone or any of the others. It's my NE2 and I've already narrowed my choices down to the Voyager and the Pearl...

definitely not a iPhone killer, more of a competitor.
as far as a knock off device 🙄 the Voyager is more of a knock off of their already xisitng EnV than the iPhone. other than the large screen on the front with touch screen there's little difference from the 10000 from the 9900. ok, the browser is different from the EnV, but all other features were there before.

You sir are a moron. You say Verizon is immitating and not innovating? Last I checked Verizon doesnt make the phone, LG does. So verizon isnt immitating anything.

The LG Voyager is a combo of the LG Prada (which was out before the iPhone) and the LG enV. so where is the immitation coming from?

Also you mentioned the iPhone's supperiority? is that why only a few months after release apple cut the cost 33%?

Lets compare

Whoa midnight, read this before you post again......

Spelling words correctly gives your posts more credibility and lends to the intelligence of the author.

Imitating is how you spell it

For chuck norris sake, there is even a damn spell check button RIGHT NEXT to the submit button.

Whoa... out giving spelling corrections on a forum. You HAVE to be 17 years old living in the bedroom of your parents house, or in the basement with your little computer and playing by yourself.

BTW ... when you are serious at correcting someone.. "For Chuck Norris' sake" yes.. Norris should have an ' (apostrophe) after it..it's called POSSESSIVE..

We all know this isn't about grammar.. it's about getting your point across..I think he did that..

I think the Iphone is much like a Pamela Anderson.. 99% of men (even gays) would be happy with her for a certain amount of time.. like her 3 husbands were..

But it's all about Eye Candy and not functionality.. I think we can all very much agree on this.. I think the first point was t...

Let me start by saying that the iPhone is in no way a superior handset. I currently use an enV and this handset does what I NEED a phone to do, while the iPhone does not.

I use AIM and Yahoo (at the same time by the way), can't do it on the iPhone.

I use VZNav for work. I HAVE to have the turn by turn directions this offers. iPhone . . . Nope.

I take a lot of pictures with my phone and then send them to my friends via text message. Can't do that with an iPhone.

I LOVE the feel of a full QWERTY keypad. I'd go crazy with the iPhone's touch screen. Especially in the winter while I'm wearing gloves.

4GB Micro SD card is more then enough storage for me. But knowing LG, once the 8GB cards come out, they'll have a software...

Well Again I say VZW turned down the iphone twice, they knew that there was a better product coming out, for the all around device. If you want a great music player then just get the itouch, but as an all around device this blows the iphone away, and if you have never tried the VZW network, it makes AT&T look like a turtle.

F*** the iPhone! iPhone this... iPhones that...its just a phone. I wish Apple would have never made that thing! Geez! I thought it was pretty freaking pathetic that ppl waited in line for it and paid a grip and then a month later Apple slashes the price. There is no way in hell I would wait in line for a cell phone...I don't care that its all touch screen and you can watch YouTube and has Visual voicemail. Its just a phone to me. I think all the new Verizon phones are nice. I don't think that the Voyager was meant to be the iPhone killer but is comparable to the iPhone. Verizon is going to sell A LOT of those phones. Its ashame that Apple decided to go with At&t because the network is crap.

Well dude I have to disagree with you. I think the Voyager is superior to the iPhone in many aspects. I think a 3g radio, MMS, mobile TV, and real keyboard is 1 step above the iPhone. I think were they iPhone flourishes is usability. The touch flo system is great and the ability of iTunes downloads for movies, tvshows, podcasts plus the internet browser, and things of that nature is what makes the iPhone a great device but it is very flawwed. I also think that the Voyager is innovative because it squeezed all the features into 1 device that Jobs forgot about. The Voyager will be a hit this Christmas season but I still do not think you can compare the sales of the two devices once the smoke clears because the Voyager will have big subsi...
