touch screen...

...has got to be the most annoying thing in the world (my apologies for those that like it!). it has its advantages, but i find more disadvantages... πŸ˜•

this person said it best, "Sams" i believe his name was:
"...I hate slider phones, I need a camshel design. I need a nice large LCD on the front, and the ultra-nice (QVGA?) LCD on the inside. Stereo speakers, minimum 2.0 mp camera, dialing keys that are NOT FLAT, but raised a little, fast intuitive interface, more than just 7 ringtones (new Samsung Gleam comes to mind), and more..."

although i have checked out the gleam, the keys are still flatter than some would like and its by samsung... LG needs to come out with something like the above statement >< (motorola's interface is way to ...

Voyager and Verizon Data Plans

Do you have to get the data plan in order to get the Voyager?. Vrz data plans are kinda expensive 😑 . Is it possible to get it just with the Vcast-mobile web package? I have the 450 minutes plus text messaging for $45 how much would I have to pay a month to have this phone?

Thank you!
Yes I just called Verizon about it. You do not need to get a Data plan. But if you want the FULL HTML browsing, you need the $44.99 unlimited data plan. The $15 vcast mobile web price jsut gets you the BOGUS web browsing of mobile web.
...
Word over at HoFo is that you will get unlimited data with the $15 Vcast plan. You will not need to buy the $45 pda data plan. This goes for the full html data not simply the piddle wap mobile browser. However, nothing is 100% confirmed, just leake...

What about Sprint???

I love the new Voyager phone, but I am not a Verizon subscriber. Does anyone know when Sprint will be releasing anything close to what Verizon is releasing?
Ummm go to the Sprint forum. Someone did post release dates for a few phones. Also, I read in a thread a month ago about the Sanyo Pro Series. The Sanyo Pro 900 is going to have Qwerty...I don't know about touch screen. Also Sprint is suppose to be...

NEVER!!! Muuuhahhahaha 😈

no, I honestly have no idea. But I do know that the Blackberry Pearl 2 is not that much of an upgrade from the original that AT&T already has. Its just a CDMA phone that has a few little upgrades. Im just excited t...

iphone killer? LOL

AT&T corporate upper management are laughing their butts off at VZW's "iphone killer" statement much like Sprint's ambitions to leapfrog 3G and go straight to 4G. This pitiful looking knockoff is one of many "ME TOO!" devices that don't come close to the iphone's superiority. Nice of VZW to immitate not innovate :-) as usual LOL
i agree that the voyager will not be the "iphone killer" but the "iphone competitor". I also agree that VZW is slacking on having or getting innovative phones...

but...

the key words there are "having" and "getting" because no carrier makes thes...

The Voyager is a unique phone. Yes it's touch screen feature reminds you of the iPhone but it's Qwerty keyboard is evidence in itself that the phone is no knockoff of apple's device. I think it is going to do extremely well. It has that touchscreen...

definitely not a iPhone killer, more of a competitor.
as far as a knock off device πŸ™„ the Voyager is more of a knock off of their already xisitng EnV than the iPhone. other than the large screen on the front with touch screen there's little di...

You sir are a moron. You say Verizon is immitating and not innovating? Last I checked Verizon doesnt make the phone, LG does. So verizon isnt immitating anything.

The LG Voyager is a combo of the LG Prada (which was out before the iPhone) and the ...

Let me start by saying that the iPhone is in no way a superior handset. I currently use an enV and this handset does what I NEED a phone to do, while the iPhone does not.

Well Again I say VZW turned down the iphone twice, they knew that there was a better product coming out, for the all around device. If you want a great music player then just get the itouch, but as an all around device this blows the iphone away, and...

Well dude I have to disagree with you. I think the Voyager is superior to the iPhone in many aspects. I think a 3g radio, MMS, mobile TV, and real keyboard is 1 step above the iPhone. I think were they iPhone flourishes is usability. The touch flo...

Great Phone Lineup (I agree)

I think this phone lineup is somewhat of a surprise strategy for Verizon as that isnΓƒΒ’Γ’β€šΒ¬β„’t really their forte. This changes things somewhat but I think the most important factor has to deal with if they are going to put any restrictions on these devices and how are the data plans with them. That Voyager is a very snazzy device.
The voice and data plans are what concern me the most...

Because these new phones don't actually introduce any new network features, you should expect to get the same data and voice options that VZW currently offers.

My Opinion

Wow, ever since the Iphone came out, Everybody was like "Nothing can be the Iphone. Iphone is the best" or some crap like that. The only thing that's innovative about the Iphone is the touchscreen and it's a APPLE product. And now, when the LG Voyager was announced everybody was like "Voyager is the IPHONE KILLER" and on top of that, they also say that AT&T network is crap. Not trying to be a AT&T fanboy or anything but AT&T is not really a bad network.
Well I know several ppl with At&t and they always complain about the network. My best currently has At&t and she can't wait until her contract is up so she can go back to Sprint. Sprint may have crappy customer service but at least they have a more ...

Voyager question

What kind of email does the LG Voyager have? Is it web based, VZ wireless sync, or something else?
Probably all of them. You can use the HTML Browser, the Mobile E-mail for $5 for major e-mail brands like Yahoo and Verizon.net or Wireless Sync for $19.99.

Voyager Dimensions

Looks interesting, but what size are the displays and what are the overall phone dimensions? If it's twice as thick as the iPhone, it's no iPhone killer.

Also, iPhone comes with 8GB memory built in. I'm going to guess an 8GB microSDHC card, which I haven't even seen available yet will run over $100 as the 4GB card is about $65.
Not sure about the Pricing of the 4 and 8gb cards.. but the 2gb can be bought at Buy . com for $24.95 no rebates.. no tax.. free shipping..

and it comes with a really nifty USB adapter to transfer the songs wherever you are..

Even if it is twice as thick as the iPhone, I think it would kick its ass. I mean, the only reason why I didn't get an iPhone was because the lack of a decent way to text, and this phone fixes it, and fixes it good.
Even if you have to pay $100 for an 8GB card, don't forget that the Voyager may cost less then your Jesus Phone.

Say the Voyager launches at $199.99 after rebate, or even $299.99 after rebate. Buy an 8GB card at $100 . . . that's still $100 LESS t...

Hard Decision

Wow,
Out of all these 4 new perfect phones. 🀀 I won't know which one to choose from. 😎
The Voyager is definitely the iPhone killer it was suppose to be. EVDO, removable battery and a real keyboard. Now all we have to is wait and see how it works.

Another Voyager Question (music related)

I currently own the chocolate and one thing that bothers me a lot is that the tags on mp3's are not read. In other words, all songs are put in alphabetical order so you cannot listen to an album as it is mean to be heard, unless you put a track number before each track. Will the voyager read all the information to avoid this problem? Thanks

Voyager Internet

Since there is no zoom function for the internet, does this mean that even if a full page loads, it will be extremely tough to read all the small print on a page??

Updates and upgrades

Will these new LG's phones be able to update and or upgrade through over the air or the Internet. Kinda like how you update your computer.

Goodbye i760, Hello Blackberry!

I'm sooooo glad I didn't order an i760 and that its release has been delayed. I've been eligible for upgrade since Feb 06 but haven't partially because I can demo store models where I work and also because there really hasn't been anything groundbreaking from Verizon, just rehashes of razrs, chocolates, and treos.

Now comes the pearl. Full html browser, 2mp camera, sd slot, and blackberry maps. The hardest part will be waiting for this one to come out.
where did you get the info on the pearl having a full html browser? if that's true then i won't be getting the voyager.

Price?

I read somewhere the four phones vary from less than $100 to $400.

Has anybody heard anything conclusive about the prices?
