Really? I have lived in 11 different states (IL, MO, GA, TN, FL, ID, WA, MT, NM, UT & WY) & found Verizon to be the best or maybe second best in every one of them. Also for traveling too, my family has been to all 48 lower U.S. States & 2 Canadian Provinces. At least in the U.S., Verizon is by far the best for travel closely followed by AT&T. TMO & Sprint are useless though I try them out from time to time. My latest time was a month ago here in Helena, MT. With full bars on TMO I got 1.5Mbps (best speed in town lol) which their CSR's called a "great" speed (yeah, in 2006 it was).

Like I said "to me the service was terrible", I was paying twice as much than with t-mobile and the data service sucked. Aside from being slower it was spotty and the call quality was like I was talking to robots and the dropped calls, and this was around May last year. It might work for you, but for me it sucks.
