Unfortunately seems like Cingular does not like Alcatel as a vendor. Too bad for them, because Alcatel is the only one with the network ready to deploy this. Alcatel is far ahead of any other vendor in terms of having mastered the specs.

Cingular tried to get UMA by asking Nokia to show their goods but Nokia was very bad and got kicked out.

Alcatel rules. T-Mobile has hot-spots that make this service even more useful for them.
Frankly, just free at home is not worth trying, but free at hot-spot/school/work/library etc. sounds much better.

Waiting for a launch Sep 12 in Seattle Market.
