1. Motorola's OS doesnt suck. It does everything all the other phones do with a slightly different set of steps. If its not what you're used to, it 'sucks'. Thats a closeminded ignorant way to think!

2. Systemshock - speak English, not engrish.

3. Its a brilliant marketing strategy by Moto. That way the phones are available when you hear about it. Its not one of those silly things where you have to wait a year to get something cool. It also prevents other from outright stealing their ideas and beating them with the release.

Motorola's OS DOES suck. Yes it does most of the things other phones do and yes in different steps. But that is what makes the difference. Nokia and LG both do similar things but usually in different ways. They both also do them in intuitive, friendly ways. They do a good job of following Human Interface Guidelines. Motorola fails to do this. A good chunk of their OS is NOT intuitive or friendly. It functions, but not comfortably. Moto seems to have taken a page out of Microsoft's interface design book: Copy what other people are doing, but make it worse.

1. You might be confusin' 'OS' with the 'user interface'. Not da same thing.

2. 'Engrish' is Asian. I know Asians, but I don' speak or type like them.

Okay, then the menu system driven by the OS sucks. Clunky, too many steps, and just a pain in the ass.

Motorola is the Nintendo of the cell phone industry. The take a good idea, and screw it up. Good design, shotty software. When PSX cameout, they used CD's but nintendo said no, we like cartridges... When PS2 and XBOX came out they used DVD's but again, nintendo said no, were gonna uses special MINI discs... When T9 came out, moto said no... were gonna use iTap.

And lets face it. Apple is NOT everything theyre cracked up to be. They are more of a fashion statement then anything. We could go on and on about the numerous problems with the ipods that other MP3 players such as the creative nomad dont have. We could talk about how hard it is to get software, or support, for their computers. And with their move to the intel processor,...

And with their move to the intel processor, they may be turning into just another PC manufacturer and the difference between them and gateway or HP will start to dwindle.

I think your right 'bout Nintendo (tho' I still like 'em, they jus' make too many good games not to like 'em), but Apple, I don' think so. I got two iPods, an' no problems wit' em'. Lots o' fri...

Fashion, yes, fashion is what is selling the ipods, not features. Do they play WMA? No. Can you EASILY replace the battery that goes dead after about a year? No. Apple outsells, because they out advertise, and out show, but dont out perform.

As for the PC... WTF? What hardware does apple make? The processor is made by IBM, graphics usually by nVidia... and so on, and so on. Why are they stable? Because they dont change models every 3 months. Thats why. Software has nothing to do with sony or dell or HP. You can put unix on it (Which is what OSX is based off of) and have a more stable OS. Problem is finding main stream software to run on it. Go to best buy, circut city, comp usa, etc. etc. and take a look at what they offe...

Naw, fashion ain't the only things sellin' iPods. They is also incredibly easy to use, an' the sound quality is real good too. Even the shuffle sounds better than a lotta other mp3 players I A-B'd against.

What hardware does Apple make? Lesse.. well they INVENTED firewire i think. An' the form factor, no, I really don' see no PCs that look like the current iMacs, towers, Powerbooks, wahtever, so I'm gonna say Apple designs and has that made to order. But whas' more important, they select all the hardware that goes into the computer an' makes sure it all works together seamless with their OS.

Microsoft to compare, jus' throws an OS out there, an' any of a million diff'rent hardware makers make stuff for 'em, an' it all gets thrown toge...

OOOH a tower, anyone can design an enclosure. An enclsure is not hardware, its just an enclosure. Alienware designs their own enclosures too. Big deal. As for Firewire... As for firewire, it was a join operation between them and sony (iLink). But USB2.0 is faster anyway.

As for compability, thats the fault of the pc makers, not microsoft. It's up to the PC makers to test the hardware. As for games on linux, alot more games and apps run on unix than do on a mac. Linux is very similar to the windows OS, and since they run on the same processors and use similar instructions, it is very easy to port over.

If anyone can design an enclosure, then why do PC makers enclosures usually look pretty lame compared to Apple? Guess design is either harder than you think bro, or PC makers is awful lame.

Far as USB goes, credit where credit is due, Apple did invent it, whether they had a partner or not. Don' know nobody who says 'bout CD technology, "Aw, Sony didn't really invent CDs, since dey got help from Phillips."

An' no, USB 2.0 ain't really faster. Its got a higher listed peak speed, but sustained and average speeds is faster with Firewire. Not somethin' to lose sleep over tho', they both plenty fast.

People don' care if the incompatibilities on the PC side are Microsoft's fault o' the PC makers, they jus' know they havin' a problem. Excus...

The iPod is an awesome product, but it has become a fashion statement. If it were not for the mega-success of the iPod, Apple would be in some financial dificulty. Apple will never be a real contender in the PC market, the product is overpriced for the mainstrem market.

We agree that the iPod ain't jus' a fashion statement, its also as awesome product, an' thats at least half of why its doin so well. The competition in tha mp3 player market is brutal, if the iPod didn' have the goods it woulda been shot offa its horse long time ago.

I don' think Apple would be in troub'e w/out the iPod, from what i understand they started bein' profitable again after Steve Jobs came back, which wuz like 6 years before the iPod ever got big (ipod wuz around for a coupla years b4 it caught on).

An' apple don' have to own the PC market for people to buy them, they jus' have to keep makin' good stuff an' kickin' butt. That's been good enough for the sales to go up. Not a lotta people buy Dell cuz they got the biggest m...
