RAZR is overrated.

I bet these phones will still have the stupid address book where if you have 15 S's you have to sit there and scroll down to the one you want.

And the battery on it will go out even quicker if ur listening to iTunes and whatnot. 😕

Razr is the most over marketed piece of garbage on the market. If anyone notices, these features have been on phones for well over a year here in the US. What's the big fuss?

I've held one, and it's not ergonomical to hold a piece of paper!

😛 Odds are the people who hate them probably can't afford them. Why else would they waste there time writing how much they hate it. Eat your hearts out! Oh and when the newer one comes out with all the extra gadgets on it, I'll have that one too. And Razr buyers don't buy it for what it does. They buy it for what it says. It makes a statement and says I'm the freshest thing on the market.

I guess my Sanyo MM-5600 did only cost $430. Get a clue moron. I also drive a 2004 Acura TL, but I can't stand Saabs. I could have easily purchased one, but decided to base my purchase on what it does, not what it says.

It's pathetic that you have to show people how "fresh" you are by buying a razr 🙄 , grow up, get some real money, then reply. You have now posted the most rediculous post on Phonescoop, congratulations!

Dude, nice car. But you can't really slam a phone based on personal preference. I will probably get the razr because it's easy to fit in suit jacket pockets. Though I think the a900 is less attractive, it's probably a better product (longer battery life, etc). And both phones suit my needs, as it were. plus, the verizon UI will provide a much needed update to the moto phonebook. And you may think that I am a foolish cad for allowing myself to buy a steeply priced phone strictly for the proposed ergonomics, however, it is a matter of personal preference. Also, I would like to get the cingular edition, though service in my area is, for lack of a better word, horrible. And yes, people who wear suits can say, "dude".

Thank you! Someone has justified the Razr, and with decency. It gets old to hear all these high school kids on here tell me how "fresh" the phone is, or that I'm "hatin'"... finally a real reason on why he likes it, well done 🙂

Agree. People forget that the target market for this as a high end phone was the "Mercedes crowd," not the "Escalade crowd" or the "Subie WRX crowd." It's not a particularly adept phone for IM, or major data communication. It IS the perfect phone for someone that doesn't want to carry it in a holster, as skyjet15 mentioned (although I can't credibly call anyone "dude").

So, in some ways, the RAZR has become a contradiction. It IS a statement phone, to some degree, but in an understated way. Then, it got so much notice that it became the first phone that was used by Cingular to DRAW customers to the service - they didn't push the service, they pushed the phone. It is STILL the phone used in ads to signify high end offerings, because of its...

For the record, I drive a Lexus LX470 and an MB SL500 and the RAZR is still overrated. The Moto OS has to be one of dumbest hunks of junk I've ever had the misfortune to use. The menus are confusing, almost nothing is configurable, the phone will not actually sync to a PC (technically, it will but there are so many unsupported modes/data types you needn't bother). I had to spend hours hacking through SEEM files just to do anything reasonable. I think the real problem here is that Motorola has always been a captive supplier to the big, dumb, old iron Bell carriers like Verizon who consider just giving you a dial tone the height of technology. Because the old iron wants things as dumb as possible, Motorola has never had to compete on the...

oh....so we ARE bringing up what we DRIVE in order to discuss about CELL PHONE???
Any 1 that complain about the kids that brag so much about their "cool and fresh" cell phones is correct 100%.
But if you "accidentally mentioned" about driving/owning a fancy car while COMPLAINING about the kid's statement, you are just as a brag as them, what is the difference?
Please discuss about cell phone only. No one CARES about what you drive...what the hell??

Actually Verizon stopped carrying Motorolas for a while after the 720/730
because of the crap load of problems associated with those phone... actully for a period there the v710 was the only Motorola they had after having none... then they went to the 265 and now the 815 and 276... customers seemed to like the new Motorolas

Actually I own a Nokia 6682. It's called a REAL phone. The RAZR makes a statement alright. You wanna know what it says. It says, I'm an attention whore and I have to have everyone has just to be accepted. So shut the hell up and grow the f*ck up.

The RAZR is not for everyone. Its a very delicate piece of electronics that is very wide and thin.
People with Cingular didnt have much choice when
it came to a flip premium phone, but hopefully by next year they will.

Personally, I love Nokia features and UI and it simple user-friendly menus, and loud speakers and ringer, etc. I recently got a Razr and at first hated it for its lack of functionality one would expect from an expensive unit - until I discovered the different things an owner COULD modify. The lack of feature is mostly due to the fact that certain carriers specifies certain feature on the phones they carry. If you take sometime to research what you can do to this phone, and of course spend some time to do it, then maybe you'd love it too. 🤣 There are several Reflash and Flex files available for this phone, and you could also create your own flexes to give the phone certain features you want in it, an example of which is Video capture... ...
