Other than that, I don't see how HDTV will become incredibly popular in wireless devices. Possibly laptops equipped with these wireless capabilities but is it really possible to recieve hi-def images on a cell phone?

Live Video Conference call with multiple users while sharing files, mp3s, listening to internet radio, watching live streamed hdtv, and browsing for movie times while your mom is on the other line.
I can't wait for my Nokia Nseries neocortex implants. I have already scheduled my Dr's appointment. 🤣
But seriously... the main thing would be hi res video calling and ultra highspeed internet options all at the same time.

Its not just you. You don't need 100 mbps for anything mobile. Those high speeds are ultimately about triple play mobile/fixed service. Operators want to replace fixed voice and broadband (dsl cable) lines as well as providing mobile (voice and broadband).
DoCoMo has tested things like hdtv to your phone but i see no value in that, maybe others will.
