Who Cares?

As a Cingular Salesman, I have to say what all the salespeople who gossip on this site are thinking: Who Cares about prepay? Customer service sure doesn't. Carriers make some money on these customers, but not that much. not many have the M2M or N+W's, b/c that's only on the $69.99 plan. if u spend that much, sign a contract + get the same thing 4 $20 bucks cheaper. No credit? Get ur Uncle Julio to sign for u or something - Get outta my store!

...you would think that would be true. I just went to a rally and all the VP's did was talk about go phone and how great it is. Managers are even getting yelled at for not selling enough go phones. I tell you the whole thing is crazy. I cant imagine being disciplined for selling contracts instead of prepay but it is happening.

There's actually a lot more money to be had in prepaid phones, probably because it's an immediate return on profit. The phones, especially high-end phones, are sold closer to the original price. The per minute value of prepaid is more expensive than post-paid.

Wireless companies love prepaid because it's a guarantied short term return. Problem is, you do not build a customer base, nor loyalty, with prepaid. Loyalty's in contract, which is always a long-term return on the investment.

Any sales motivated individual should love this option. I am a Cingular Rep and I hate seeing people leave my store empty handed. It's all about revenue baby, and I won't leave any money lying on the table, prepaid or regular service.

as a sprint iae i have to admit the best prepay around is the tmobile to go... minutes last for a year and drop down to aroun 17-10 cents a minute (keeping in mind you need to accumulate 100 dollars to keep your minutes for the year). but truely the lamest of all prepay (and if you don't agree with this you are either retarded or work for verizon) is impulse, from verizon wireless. a dollar a day plus 25 cents a minute... does that sound like a deal to any of you?

Another thing that is stupid about verizons inpulse is that IN only applies to outgoing calls not incoming. So what if alot of people you know have inpulse only one of u get the discounted rate 🙄

I'll tell you, I'm so glad I had good credit once. Then again, who said prepaid was supposed to get you the best deal?

How many times on this site do people complain about the poor customer service from Cingular wireless...
I work for customer care and i spend half my day calming down customers who have to put up with your bullshit in the store.
People HATE going to the store cause they're treated like crap b reps like you. if you dont like the job... then leave... Cingular and the customers dont need someone like you around
