Did I say anything about a phone? As my acronyms state, I'm wanting to know if it has any cellular data capabilities. Never asked if it can make a phone call. I can use Cingular's EDGE data network to access the Internet on a tablet pc by using a air-card. Sony has even released a laptop with GPRS?EDGE capabilities. It's stupid if this device doesn't support it. Especially for it's size, it's ultra-portable.

And nevermind that Wi-Fi blows EDGE out of the water.

Not necessarily a dying technology (it's not going anywhere), just insufferably slow. For someone like me, who's used to broadband speeds, EDGE makes me insane. I've used quite a few EDGE capable phones, and it's never been any faster than common 1xRTT. Give me Wi-Fi over EDGE any day of the week.
