Motorola Announces CDMA RAZR
Not 4 Verizon
Once again, the "cool" seems to breeze by Verizon.
Now, I could care less about the RAZR remake.
Both the N330 and A970 are Samsungs with internal antennas for Verizon. Samsung has worked very hard to create an internal antenna to meet Verizon's standards. It's something I specifically discussed with Samsung spokespeople at CTIA just yesterday. They said it wasn't easy getting Verizon to approve it, but they have made it work.
I can also tell you that the CDMA RAZR (we like to call it the CRAZR 😉 ) is also intended for Verizon. That's based on:

- I was at the press conference Tuesday evening where this was announced, and I was literally six feet from Ron Garriques when he specifically said on stage that the main challenge in bringing the Korean CRAZR to the U.S. was making it dual-band. If it was for Sprint, it would not need to be dual-band...
- I can also tell you that Motorola is still on very rocky footing with Sprint right now. I heard this straight from the mouths of top execs at both companies at CTIA. The V60v wasn't too great, so Motorola is going to try again with two phones entering testing toward t

in my opinion, i think it will be for both sprint and verizon since they are both on cdma.

Also, Rich said that its unlikely Motorola would make such an investment in in "unstable relationship" like there is between Sprint and Motorola.

Nextel 18 doesn't pick things up too quickly...
Not to stray from the topic too much, but the antenna thing with Verizon really is a perceptual issue.
(according to Motorola,) the RAZR is one of the best-performing phones ever in terms of RF performance.
Man, they must be expecting snow this morning in N'awlins... 😳
Although I do have a RAZR, and I am impressed with its RF performance.
They're both great phones, IMO.
I think the only thing that would have really made me consider spending $210 more for the RAZR would have been you saying that it is far superior to the 6230.
Thank You very much for your input.
This is the T-Mobile configurator site. You can get OTA updates for all kinds of unlocked phones to enable WAP, MMS, and internet. I used it on a RAZR just the other day.

1. They have a Nokia on the site right now that doesn't have one.
2. A couple of years ago they offered the Quailcomm Q phone that had no external antenna!!!
