Ok.
So when will we have to start getting people financed for their phones?
Much of this technology is truly amazing.
Is anyone going to pay 1000.00 for it?
The carrier's insurance won't cover these expensive devices.
Do I have to call AllState to get these insured?
I would be almost scared to buy something like that.
Although... I wouldn't have a problem mugging someone for it. 😈
J/K.
Really.

No doubt that this device will require people to take out a second mortgage on their house. đŸ¤Ŗ

If you think about it, it's not that expensive. The current latest PDAs are ringing in somewhere around 500, if you figure you spend $200 for your cell phone, there's $700 right there that you would have spent anyways. Why not spend it all in the same place?

hilarious!!!....but very true...I believe that it IS ridiculous that the cell phone carriers will not insure the higher-end (more expensive) handsets. Personally, those are the handsets that I would buy insurance for, I could care less about a 50 dollar or a 100 dollar phone. It's like cars, if it's cheap, and has nothing on it, get liability, if it's a luxury, you get full coverage...go figure!!

That's definitely a risky proposition if the carrier won't insure the device. I guess I'll have to make sure my Amex card will handle the load.

Mugging people for phones is good business, thanks to e-bay. 😎 But really, does anyone want this phone so bad as to forfeit the ability to eat for a couple years? Besides, HP makes horrible products, and all the info on these features are speculative at best at the point where they are rumors. Remember when it was said that the Razr was going to be made out of Titanium? Or how about when all Cingular Motorolas were going to be unlocked? Or when Seimens phones were supposed to be the best for signal out there? 😕 And no insurance availible? Come on. You gotta know that it's going to break in the scuffle with your mugger. 😈

You don't actually light up like you see in cartoons or in the movies. You just sort of jerk around a little and you might smoke a tad.

I realise that different carriers use different insurance companies... but Asurion covers the phone (up to $1500) and accessories (up to $200).

you should also know that some credit cards will double the manufactures warranty if you purchase the phone with the card and then register it with them. Check Visa, Mastercards I think these do for sure
