making a switch from verizon to sprint

has anyone on here switched from verizon to sprint???? I'm just curious if you werre happy with the service.....Thank you in advance, I am in Maryland and would love a cheaper bill, but I am really afraid to port over my business line because I need good reception. So instead I got a different phone number to use for the 30 day trail period....

Thanks for any info you can provide..I got the HTC Shift and love the phone but afraid of revception in some areas, compared to verizon

To Root or Not to root

Exactly as stated... I don't know a whole lot about it but is it really worth rooting your phone?

re: Phone crashes on Call Waiting

☚ī¸
Love this phone but have discovered a serious problem: If I'm on a call and get a call-wait and do not answer the call-wait, the phone crashes and I lose both calls (the active one and the call-wait). Very disturbing.

Is anyone else having a problem downloading and opening files on their phone? Mine says file content not supported when trying to open music files! Getting very frusterating! Is there an app that I can get to fix the problem? đŸ˜ĸ

Open Programs

So I bought this phone for my wife the other day. I have the Samsung Epic 4G. I am used to having the program monitor where I can turn off apps that are draining the battery. Well I downloaded an app killer program for her Shift since it doesn't come with one, maybe I'm using the wrong one. It's called advanced task killer. Anyway, my issue is, after she makes a call or even when she uses an app, she goes into the task killer to kill the apps in use. Well there tend to be a lot that she hasn't even used that are running like Gmail and amazon mp3 for example. Does anyone know why these apps are running when she isn't using them and how to possibly turn them off? Thanks!
You do not need a task killer. Just because it shows that it's in the background doesn't mean it is using any cpu. Android is not like windows or osx, it loads everything it can to memory waiting to be called up. That's a very big misconception with a...

The Keyboard...

That's two phonescoop "reviews" I've read saying that the keyboard was not very good. One from Eric and one from Rich... what gives? The keyboard won't win any awards, but I love it. I think the keys are well placed and easily used. And I also like the fact that you have to move the keyboard without the spring action. I've seen several spring loaded keyboards fail miserably. This one feels like it will last for years. Oh and as far as the video calling...
I'm pretty sure it was abandoned on purpose for 2 reasons. 1. Qik being bought by Skype. 2. Everyone bitches about Vid calling on anything but WIFi. The fact is, like you touched upon in one of your articles, Vid calls aren't perfect even on a pc, so I'm not really demanding my cell phone ...

I stand by my opinion and agree with Eric. It's a crappy keyboard compared to many, many other phones.

The Cliq 2 keyboard, for example, may look funny and feel kinda cheap, but the keys are a much, much better shape that makes them easier to feel ...

Voice dialing

I currently have a Hero, and voice dialing is useless. How is it on the Shift??
I use the BlueAnt S4 speakerphone on the EVO and the Shift and it works fine with 2.2 for voice dialing. 2.1 did not have that option.....

What research?

The processor is the newest version of the Snapdragon processor (the same one in the g2) and is much faster than the Evo's, not to mention a better graphics processor. This phone is essentially the g2 without the trackpad, and Sense on top. Please do your research!
Agreed, the megahertz myth is in full effect here...if clock speed meant that much, we'd have 10 GHz processors in our computers by now.
