Verizon Wireless Confirms Tiered Pricing for LTE Services
I use about 6Gb a month or so (starting to use more with podcasts)
But lets say on a pure 4g phone I use 15gb of data.
let's say that the tiered pricing is $20 for 5gb of data (which I think is high ...
Tiered only pricing for LTE?
Guess why I won't be buying a Verizon 4G card... EVER.
Unlimited plans are bad for the average consumer, and they're bad for businesses. The only people they are good for are the ones who are atypical users (peo...
$60.00 for 5 measly GB?
And that's friggin pathetic.
FOR ALL THE SH%T TALKERS
This is not a verizon flame, more so stop being cry babies. No one is forcing you to buy these products, if you want them pay for it if not don't. Like my dad always said " Don't drink Champagne on a Beer Budget"
easy fix for the vz customers
come on over to sprint and quit crying about vz's bs 😎 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I'd call, but no one ever answers the phones at Sprint.

2012, The year of the web phone
The cost of internet on the handsets may go up, but the cost of voice and text may be reduced to almost nothing but a symbolic cost. All calling goes unlimited because of VOIP and the competitive edge between companies is no longer how many signal bars you have, but how fast the speed of the network is.
High international calling charges would be a thing of the past, since it will be 100% VOIP and minutes will be unlimited.
Wi-Fi will supplement any lack of tower coverage for all phones.
I don't know, just a thought.
unlimited vs tiered: it doesn't have to be one or the other, does it?
That way the users who don't need much data can pay for what they use, and those who use large amounts can be safe from nasty bills.
The danger with tiered data and VOIP or VOLTE or whatever they want to call it in the future is this: We think VOIP will give us unlimited minutes, but if minutes are measured in MB's, then the more you talk the more data you consume, and therefore you will pay more on a tiered data structure.
My solution: Choice. If you are on a family plan with phones that are not data capable, then you will use minutes (or at least have access to minutes). If you have an option to make calls through a VOIP app,...
VZW LTE = Long Term Expensive
GREED WILL CONSUME EVERYTHING 🤣
VZW is the most stingy data carrier after all
T-Mobile HSPA+ is semi-unlimited
I think that with LTE VZW will see a LOT of people leaving just because prices are gonna be cheaper elsewhere, while having the same equipment (phones and ...
Wimax, at the frequency it is at, will only really be effective in densly populated areas. Tmobile doesn't have the available spectrum to really expand their network.
We kind of knew this would happen...
Verizon is prepping themselves for a culture that is beyond "give me a basic phone or free phone" and more towards using smartphones and a lot more data. I think it's smart of them to introduce tiered plans now instead of thinking unlimited is the way to go and then having to go back on that.
And honestly, I do wish more companies offered this. Right now, I pay $30 a month for an iPhone data plan that I barely use because I am always on wifi. So I may go the entire month and use less than 300MB. It would be great to pay $5 or $10 for every GB used instead of giving "unlimited" d...
It will be interesting to see how these buckets of data apply to us.
The up side....
Then no one is forced into a $30/month plan and big bandwidth users will pay according to their usage. Fair pricing is all I want.
