Oh sheesh

Notice how it's "Best Buy Mobile", not "Best Buy Phones"

They've been planning to sell things that allow you to be wireless. So, MP3 players, laptops with those lovely wireless cards, USB cables for cell phones for tethering, anything to get you away and disconnected.

That's my understanding of those stores models.
Yeah, we sell the MP3 and aircards, but my store doesn't have laptops. Some stores do. Most BBM Stores though can sell anything the big stores can sell and we have it shipped with no shipping costs to your home.

You know, this business model sounds a lot like a traditional Radio Shack store, without the electronic parts and batteries.

Watch Out Radioshack

I kinda figured when I first heard this concept they were going to eventually do more and compete head to head with Radioshack. They will gradually offer more products. If I was Radioshack I would be worried.

As a quick aside, when I visited London I was totally bamboozled by the glut of CPW stores -- and all other chain stores/operator stores for that matter.

"There is not a High Street here that does not have a CPW" is a major understatement -- for a...

Actually

There are 26 stores open now with another 300 planned in the next year.
Actually, the 26 stores are Best Buy Mobile 1.0, these 3 stores are Best Buy Mobile 2.0 which will sell all the upcoming products while the 1.0's wont and also the 2.0 stores will be bigger.

I wonder....

If they will be like a regular cell phone store and pay commission or if they will stick with the parent company's business model. If they don't offer commission, good luck getting any decent employees 🤨
Nope, they don't work on commission and we have no rebates. And I work at one and we've had very good luck at getting good employees. So far (we've been opened for 2 months), I have not had one customer as mad as the ones that I've seen at regular Be...
