Unlock code?

I noticed in the reviews that someone had unlocked the phone and is using it on t-mobile's network with no problems...any idea on how to go about unlocking the phone? and does anyone know FOR SURE if everything will work properly? Picture mail, internet, email etc....thanks people!
A lot of people have had good luck buying the Storm and calling Verizon to get it unlocked.

The Storm will work on AT&T and T-Mobile but not at 3G speeds
If you want to unlock your Blackberry Storm 9530 mobile phone from the network lock,I would suggest you to get an unlock code from
http://www.unbblock.com/blackberry-storm-9530/rs5wp9/ » at low price.

Gmail Issues - delivery receipt

I setup a gmail account and then setup my work email in the settings -> accounts and import. The reply is setup to use works email, but for some reason if someone attached a delivery receipt in outlook both the works ISP and gmail send delivery receipt emails. The issue is that the gmail account sends the delivery email using the gmail account.

I don't want our customers knowing my gmail account.

This issue does not happen with the Droid Gmail App.

I have a few Storm 1 questions on the TMo Network

I don't have the phone in hand as of yet but, have already called TMo to make the changes needed to my plan. I'm not a BB user and most of my phones have been older Windows based phones. I will probably get the Touch Pro2 later in the year when price comes down. I just wanted to know if anyone could pass along any tips and or tricks to help me along the learning process. Biggest concern is the OS. I have read the forum and seen that there are many "glitches" in firmware updates and wanted to know if anyone knew how a TMo customer could get ahold of firmware updates? Also, any software recommendations would be appreciated as well. What works well with this phone?
Thanks in advance.
u can always download the software updates online

I bought my Storm I about a year ago. I have switched to ATT. The phone is used but has been in a case the whole time and I have already broken my conttact with Verizon. If you want it with its slider hardshell case, and home charger, I am willing to sell it as is with most of its warranty still in tack. Any questions please ask me.

Hi Ben:

Sorry I don't have the answer to your question, but was hoping you might be able to help me. I have a verizon BB Storm that I need to have unlocked for AT&T, any ideas?

Unlock Code

I got a great deal on a Verizon BB Storm, that was unlocked to accept a T-Mobile Sim Card. I am with AT&T, and work for AT&T but I am thoroughly confused. It's obvious this phone can be used for both CDMA and GSM networks. What numbers do I need from the phone to get the unlock code? I know for GSM phones it's the imei number and you can get that by pressing #*06*, but it doesn't work on this handset. Any answers or links to where I can figure out how to unlock this?

I was able to install this, but pretty much every
version of the 5.0 OS's
have all had the nerfed voice command problem.
The symptom is

Will Verizon push O/S 5 to the Storm(1)

Sorry if this has already been covered. I've been away from this forum for a while. Does anyone know if Verizon will push o/s 5 to the Storm?
Uhh...they already did. They released it before they released Storm2. But if you mean OTA, I don't think they did/will. You have to install with DM.

Lost all my ring and alert tones

Anybody know how I can get them back?
Were they on you memory card? If so, check to make sure they are still on there using your PC. If they are, try removing you card from your phone and putting it back in.
You might try a security wipe. Go to menu/options/security options/security wipe. If you have a corrupted app, this will take care of that. You could always reinstall important apps. However, apps usually do not interfere with a DL of this nature.

Software Update - LOST ICONS!!

Ok so my problem isn't so dramatic, but I think it is lol

I FINALLY did the software upgrade this morning and for the most part, I love it! However, I don't see the icon for my EMAIL! Just to let you know, I have my "msn.com" account linked to my Storm 1 ... I went to my Email settings and started all over again, but still no EMAIL icon 😢 I am still getting emails, but they are going to my MESSAGES folder.

Again, I am making this more dramatic than it really is, but I find it pretty annoying LOL!! Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions on what I can do to get the EMAIL icon/folder back???
mine did the same thing but they were just hiding. Show all icons and it should be there.

Just curious.
It's too much fun in here anyway! 🤣

The Droid is stealing all our thunder. It got it's own page and it's not even out yet!
I hope soon!!

unlocking storm?

Gonna be upgrading to the storm 2 this week and am selling my storm to a friend that has att. How do I unlock it so he can use it
You could try a company such as this:
http://www.cellunlock.net/Default.asp?Redirected=Y »

or some people have been able to just call Verizon up and get the codes.

Also the Storm is not capable of 3G when it's on AT&T, but it works fine on EDGE

software update question

my friend is using the storm 1 and hes not very savvy so he asked my help but i am stuck. he did the software upgrade that verizon offered to do that makes the storm 1 like the storm 2, (fixing the lagging and keyboard issues). he did the upgrade but now some interesting things are happening. when a contact sms's him, if they are a bbm contact it comes under bbm and not sms/mms. its the weirdest thing. if the same person sends an mms msg it comes under sms/mms. i tried everything, and i even called my friend that did the upgrade and she says that she doesn't have that problem. just for giggles i went under the bbm options and removed the link between the bbm and blackberry contact and that didn't work either. anyone know what to do? 😕
Did you do a battery pull after you removed the link? If that doesn't work, try removing the pin from the contact, that way there is no way that the BB can link the two. It will be forced to consider the two as different contacts. From what I've re...

Love my new Storm2!

Ok. So I have been used and abused by the 9530 since Nov 21st of 2008. I have had 6 of them and all of them were replaced by VZW no questions asked.

I am a very heavy user with 4 emails being pushed, facebook, aim, google talk, and poynt as my primary apps that I use and use OFTEN.

Honestly, I really didnt think there would be a big difference btw the 2 but it is a night and day experience for me. I was a very fast typer on the 9530 and didnt think there was anything wrong with the last screen, but I thoroughly enjoy the new screen (and I didnt think I would after playing with the device for 5 min in the store).

I even tried the Imagio for 2 weeks but I couldnt handle it for typing and I did miss the BB world/bbm despite old interfa...

I have had mine out of the box for 15 minutes as I write this. That qualifies me as an expert on here right? 🤣

Initial impressions:
-The click is different. I'll need to get used to it.
-typing on the keyboard is insane! No c...
I hate all of you! 🤣 I can't get my upgrade until Mar.

Crippled Wi-Fi!

The Storm2 is a really nice phone! Sharp screen, easy to type on, both in landscape and protrait mode, fast, and feels really well built. Until you want to access your emails via wi-fi!

I spent two days with VZW data support, dlink, and even Blackberry support & guess what? The only way you can access any Blackberry services is through the VZW mobile network!

Apparently the only thing VZW allows on wi-fi is browsing the internet (oh joy!) and LAN hookups for printers, etc. I have had other wi-fi Blackberries; in Eurpoe and Asia and just like it says in the BB manual- once they are hooked up to wi-fi, all BB services are available (emails, etc). Not on VZW! WTF??

I was willing to shell out full retail for this beauty, as I have cu...
You don't have BES? BIS will only allow web and downloading data. Also, there is a known issue right now with the $30 blackberry data plan. Some are not getting wifi.
I am new to wifi on phones, but I just did a test with my network settings off and wifi connected only and it's receiving emails. I have a BIS unlimited plan.

WiFi doesn't appear to be crippled other than the issue I mentioned above with the $30 pl...

hey guys, i need some help right now.. i just updated my storm to .328 and i cant get my quick pull to work... what happens is, i click quick pull and it asks if i am sure i want to reset the device.. i click yes.. and it pops up "An error occurred while starting QuickPullLib. The application has been terminated." and i can only click "ok" and return back to the main screen.. anyone know how i can fix this??

First Impressions on the New One

I've had a chance to play around with my Storm 2 for a day, and compare it to the original. Not a great deal of difference. The 2, of course is built with a tighter fit and more stable tolerance design. For example, there's less play in the function buttons to invoke a field. The display surface is improved around the edges. It is actually easier to dial a number on the Storm1 (easier to press the screen), however.

The major upgrade appears to be WiFi and expanded memory. My themes, other than stock Zen, do not fill the screen in landscape on either build (5.0) problem, but that's a developer issue. With all the hoopla about a better typing experience.....big hands are big hands! The Qwerty still suffers from a small footprint and...

Tell me I'm nuts. Follow this link and tell me if I'm seeing this right:

You are nuts and you are seeing it right 🤣

The on-line guy said that BOGO was only for on-line and not in the stores. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings 🤤
One more thing I found out about BOGO. It applies for up to 30 days after you get your Storm2 so you don't have to get two right away if you were not ready
