Sprint Slashes Jobs As Part of Cost-Cutting Actions
stupid move
but instead they keep the same crappy service and just fire a ton of ppl
they are still gonna lose money
wtf are these ppl thinking
Hopefully one other move they make is to shut down the overseas call centers and bring that work back to the US and get some people that can speak english in there
they need to work on improving the actual service as well as what they already have done otherwise they are gonna be in the same boat with less ppl
Sprint PCS was set up on a PCS network from the beginning.. meaning 1900 MhZ.
Im sure they own a large amount of 800 mhz now, what with purchasing smaller companies and what not, but sprint ALWAYS had the 1900 mhz as the backbone of the network.
I AM GOD said:
the 850 bandwidth was already auctioned off by the time Sprint started offering wireless service.
He's right. Sprint doesn't own ANY 850. The iDEN frequency is a different frequency known as SMR which they are having issues with the federal government for frequency interference.
Remember.. "Sprint has built the only all digital, all PCS wireless network for crystal clear calls.. so clear you can hear a pin drop"
remember??

u would think the company would work on measures to improve sprint to get more customers more towers, different planes, and so on

Sprint IS putting up new towers all the time everywhere. Last year, they added hundreds of them nationwide.
As far as their plans go, what other nationwide wireless company has unlimited texting for $10 a month? Who else has free incoming plans and 7:00 pm nights at no extra charge? Who else has $60 family plans with all those things available? Certainly NOT Verizon and their big "free mobile to mobile" plans that a...

While I will agree that Sprint does have many more MVNO's than that of any other Carrier. I feel that there are not any threads due to the fact that not alot of people that are out there not in the biz know that Virgin Mobile or Helio operate on Sprint's network.
Also, I have never seen a Helio or Virgin Mobile specific thread.

While Sprint may offer all those great things that does differiate them from the rest. If I remember it has been since the merger with Nextel that they began to offer these incentives to bring sales up after a dramatic loss from the merger.

That is exactly my point. People don't know what network Helio or Virgin mobile use, and they say good things...

Correction: spirnts old billing system is p2k. Premier is an access system of it. Retail uses RMS (for both p2k and ensemble). Nextel was known for being stingy with corporate spending. It became common knowledge within the company that Ensemble was cheaper to use than p2k which is why they went with it. Ditto peoplesoft for HR. Its likely not as bad as it seems but Sprint blew it on integrating ensemble into the existing access systems (RMS) which is why so many people hate it. Bad customer support systems equals bad customer service.
It doesn't surprise me if Sprint is failing to transition PCS accounts over to ENSEMBLE properly. Nextel, pre-merger, had the fewest complaints with the FCC...

I don't disagree. Nextel ran a good tight ship. I think the transition of billing systems was blown big time by Sprint.
As is everything else.
Something's gotta work sometime! 🙄
The old gsm network is cheap and therefor can offer you cheap service.
If you like that keep it to yourself and don't bash every company for having a more advanced, more expensive to run network.
Supply and demand. People want clear calls and ringtones in an instant will switch to Sprint.
