E61i-1 and E61i-2?

Does anyone know what the 2 numbers mean? It seems the 61i-1 has RM-227 and 61i-2 has a different RM.
Did you figure out what this means?

Nokia E61i vs. Blackberry Curve

I'm debating on whether to get the E61i or Blackberry Curve. ANy thoughts out there? My main thing is I can't figure out how to get push email/wireless email setup with an unlocked Nokia phone and Cingular/AT&T are no help because their tech people can't support E series phones. I call Nokia people and they can't help either.

Please advise!!
I use ProfiMail on the E61i. I found the built in email application to be too slow to be usable. ProfiMail costs something, but all in all it's pretty usable. You'll find it at www.lonelycatgames.com

Finding the right note in "Notes"

anyone know of any software whuich will allow me to find the right 'note' by typing in letters? ie i have 200 notes so if i type in "s" I want to be taken to those notes dtarting with S.
thanks
I would like to know if you've made any progress on organizing your notes? One of the unpleasant surprises about the E61i is its inability to sync Outlook's Categories. I'm not in love with outlook in the first place and so am very open to other cre...

MMS doesn't work on e61i

I cannot send or receive MMS picture messages on my e61i. Prior to this, I had a 6230 that wouldn't do it either. Then I had the N80 for a while and could send MMS msgs with ease. I assumed that since the e6ii & the N80 have a similar OS, that I would have no problems. When I try to send a picture, it just keeps trying to send until i give up and stop it. Incoming MMS msgs never come in. Is there a setting that I haven't found that I need to change? I have the Euro-version of the N*0 & e61i, so I can't see that being hte problem.

What about Service Plans???

I am very interested in this phone.

However, I don't understand the unlocking of phones such as this.

How do I get service, exactly?

If it is unlocked, does that mean I don't need a service contract?

If so, why will they only offer 2 year contracts from ATT?

All companies penalize for early termination of cell services. Is this phone somehow immune to those penalties?

Also, there is a T-Mobile version of this phone too, no?

So, if it is unlocked, can I use it wherever I want, really or not? What are my real options in terms of service plans?

Lackluster display

I just got an e61i. It's the European version. I also have the N80 (European version). I compared the two screens last night. The N80 has richer color with very sharp text that extremely easy to read for such a small screen. I have been VERY impressed with the readability of the N80. In comparison, the colors in my e61i are not as vibrant and the text is not as sharp. The font looks different on the e61i, for example, the hook of the lowercase letter "g" has more of a curve in it. To get the color of the display to look more like the N80, I turned down the brightness.

I'm somewhat disappointed that the screen isn't as impressive. Is it because both displays have the same dpi and because the e61i has a bigger screen, the pixels are more sp...

Just found out!!

There is NO 3G phone outside of the phones that Cingular sells that will work with it. Only CINGULAR branded will ever work on there 3G network. So theres no point ever asking if a Phone has 3G for the USA.
Well yes and no, there is an unbranded N75 that will work just fine on 850/1900 umts.

Just wondering if anything is removed when the wcdma 2100 mhz band is added. I want at least the 850 and 1900 usa gsm bands available. Thanks in Advance. Jay
I have E61 - not E61i, but it should be identical. You do not loose GSM bands in two out of three options. When you select "Dual Mode" or " GSM" in Settings - Network - Network Mode, you will be able to connect to Cing's network. You will not be able ...

Should I or shouldn't I?

So, tell me guys... I'm wanting to ditch my Dell Axim and Nokia 6230 and combine into one item. Should I get the E61i or keep my Axim and 6230?

My 6230 still isn't giving me any problems so I don't have a good excuse to get rid of it, I'm just tired of carrying around so many gadgets.
I'm in the same situation you're in. I have the 6230 and started using my old PDA again to help me decide if I want a PDA phone. I bought a Nokia N80 with the plan for it to be a temporary phone. Unfortunately, no phone out there REALLY satisfies my w...

Expected for release?

Slammyham bought one and it's available on some Web sites & on ebay. Does anyone know why on www.nokiausa.com, the e61i is still on their Expected for Release page? (The N75 was removed from the page when it was finally released.) And when you go to the phone's page, it says "Coming soon" and you can sign up for updates? Does that mean that it might be going to a carrier?
It will remain on the "Coming Soon" page until Nokia officially releases it in the United States. Most of the ones people have now are imported from overseas.

Nokia hates media

What does Nokia have against A2DP????

This is a feature I use daily. It's not just for media phones Nokia! Us business men enjoy not having to carry an iPod or other crap device with us on long trips.

Just another reason why I can't give Nokia my money.
LOL. Nokia loves media! look at the N series! as for the e61i w/o A2DP....that does kinda suck. it's a business device. If you truly want both pleaure and play...then i think the e90 is the only way to go.
