just one more example

of carriers trying to stick their grubby fingers into everyone else's business, literally.

i would rather have my carrier focus on making their network rock than having them focus on all this stupid proprietary crap. this is like comcast or att trying to compete with google, just because they control the internet connection. dumb.
comcast and ATT are trying to find a way to charge google for reaching people who subscribe to their broadband service. even though google pays to be on the net just like everyone else does.

this = crappy search engine

Instead of sticking to what they are good at, carriers are going to create a crappy search engine just so they get some more money from advertising. Google and Yahoo are good at making search engines, and you don't see them trying to create their own cell network to market it on, that would be ridiculous. To think that the carriers can make a good search engine is stupid.
